Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills

As a seasoned adventurer with countless battles under my belt, I can attest to the indispensable nature of these Archetype skills in Metaphor. Each one offers a unique advantage that can turn the tide in even the most dire of situations.

In the game Metaphor: ReFantazio, as you advance and upgrade your characters or Archetypes, you’ll gain access to a variety of fresh abilities. These aren’t limited to active moves like attacks and spells, but also encompass passive enhancements that will automatically benefit your character.

These passive abilities vary in impact, ranging from modest stat boosts to pivotal, game-altering character enhancements such as Mana regeneration and absolute immunity against status conditions.

By leveraging the feature of skill transfer and using a pile of Magla for payment, you’re able to move any previously acquired passive skills to your preferred Archetype.

To craft a comprehensive, invincible character Archetype, it would be wise to incorporate these passive abilities into your setup, along with potent attack skills for good measure.

10 Merchant: Lucky Find

Everyone Likes Free Stuff

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills

UnlockedMerchant Level 2
EffectIncreases likelihood of receiving items after battles by 20%.

Regardless of whether it’s the real world or a fictional one, it’s resources like money and goods that keep things running. As you work on amassing wealth, you’ll often find yourself in need of additional items, tools, and marketable resources to add to your reserves.

If you’re aiming to boost your stock of premium items, the Merchant Archetype’s ability to discover valuable items, known as the Lucky Find skill, could bring about a substantial profit.

Boosting your chances of obtaining loot following victories in battles by 20% is what Lucky Find offers. Although it might seem minor, considering the number of skirmishes you usually encounter in a typical dungeon, this bonus will certainly accumulate over time.

9 Paladin: Revitalise 3

One Less MP Bar To Feed

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedPaladin Level 20
EffectRecovers significant MP every turn.

In the game of Metaphors, MP (Mana Points) serves as a valuable asset within its dungeons. During each fight, it gradually depletes, leaving only faint remnants by the time you encounter a boss.

Using the Paladin Archetype’s Revitalize 3 as a passive ability could significantly reduce the need for consuming multiple MP recovery items, making your gameplay more efficient.

Combatants possessing this ability will naturally restore a small amount of their Magic Points (MP) during each of their turns.

That little bit of extra MP turnaround can really improve your dungeoneering longevity.

8 Dark Knight: Instant Recovery

Shake It Off, Soldier

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedDark Knight Level 18
EffectEnsures status ailments are automatically cured in 1 turn.

Health issues pose a significant inconvenience. They not only limit your effectiveness in combat by affecting both your offensive and defensive capabilities, but they also linger until they are treated or naturally heal.

If you don’t have enough healing supplies, it’s hard to predict exactly how many times your teammates might get affected.

Using the Instant Healing trait of the Dark Knight Archetype, any afflictions you pick up during gameplay will miraculously disappear after only a single round has passed.

If you absolutely have to put up with ailments, let it be for the briefest possible time.

7 Ninja: Third Eye

Can’t Touch This

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedNinja Level 20
EffectWhen attacked, halves attacking enemy’s Hit Rate.

Having a robust teammate like Hulkenberg, capable of withstanding some blows, is advantageous. However, the ideal situation would be one where no one receives any hits at all.

Instead of debuffing enemies to enhance your evasion chances, how about you do it through the Ninja Archetype’s Third Eye ability?

Whenever an enemy targets an ally with the Third Eye, their accuracy will significantly decrease just before they strike, effectively reducing their hit chance by half.

This significantly boosts your chances of completely evading attacks, lessening the impact and forcing the opponent to forfeit their action symbols instead.

6 Pugilist: Dodge Master

No Critical Hits Allowed

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedPugilist Level 20
EffectEnemies cannot critically hit wielder.

Critical hits from enemies are an ever-looming threat. Even if you’ve set up your characters to diminish or nullify their weaknesses, a poorly timed critical will still give the enemy an extra turn.

Fortunately, you can counteract the common vulnerability to critical hits through the Dodge Master skill offered by the Pugilist Archetype.

Any party member with Dodge Master equipped will be completely immune to critical hits, full stop.

They’ll still take the damage, but it can never go critical, which can provide some peace of mind.

5 Wizard: Shield Blessing

Another Good Incentive To Buff Your Party Members

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedWizard Level 11
EffectWhile Attack/Defense or Hit/Evasion are buffed, recover a significant amount of MP every turn.

Generally speaking, it’s beneficial to enhance your teammates’ attack power, defense, and accuracy during their turns if you find yourself with an extra action.

The bonuses offer enough motivation on their own, but if you require additional reasons, consider using the Shield Blessing of the Wizard Archetype.

Under the aegis of Shield Blessing, each party member who presently holds an active bonus automatically recovers MP during their turn.

You can make your Wizard stronger and ensure they have enough MP to keep casting. It’s a win-win.

4 Dragoon: Unshaken Will

Enough With The Status Ailments Already

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedDragoon Level 20
EffectPrevents Charm, Daze, Forget, Sleep, and Rage.

A prudent approach for handling chronic conditions is to always have an ample supply of healing resources readily available.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but wonder, isn’t it just fantastic if we could bypass those pesky status issues altogether? Well, here’s something that might strike a chord – the unyielding resilience of the Dragoon Archetype, embodied in their Unshaken Will skill.

Any ally fortified with an Unyielding Mind is entirely resistant to mental afflictions such as enchantment, confusion, memory loss, slumber, and fury.

When you combine the Unshaken Will trait with the Battle Master skill of the Martial Artist Archetype, you’ll gain immunity to nearly all afflictions, leaving only anxiety as an exception.

3 Tycoon: Critical Trade

An Eye For Quality Means An Eye For Weakness

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedTycoon Level 16
EffectDoubles chance of dealing a critical hit to an enemy.

Catching critical hits is all about probability. Essentially, what you’re aiming for is to give your opponents the least possible chances, while maximizing your own.

Instead of just adding accessories and using the Rebellion ability, another effective approach is enhancing your character with the Critical Trade skill of the Tycoon Archetype.

When Critical Trade is activated, there’s a higher likelihood for physical attacks against enemies to become critical hits than usual, with the success rate being doubled.

This skill is indispensable for physical damage Archetypes like Warrior or Berserker.

2 Martial Artist: Unyielding Blood

Everyone’s Entitled To One Mulligan

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedMartial Artist Level 15
EffectAllows one ally to endure one fatal attack restoring them to full HP, once per battle.

Whenever you encounter a new monster in Metaphor, there’s always an unpleasant scenario looming.

In this case, you struggle to find your stride because you’re overwhelmed with weaknesses and criticisms before you have a chance to adapt to them effectively.

If you’re being overwhelmed before you can identify their vulnerabilities, consider using the “Unyielding Blood” trait of the Martial Artist Archetype for a second chance.

In each fight, a party member bearing the Unyielding Blood trait can withstand a lethal blow, recuperating fully to their maximum health as a result.

It’s great for both regular monster research and toughing out boss fights.

1 Elemental Master: Magic Link

All Together Now

Metaphor ReFantazio Best Passive Skills
UnlockedElemental Master Level 12
EffectHalves MP cost of Synthesis. (Only applies to Syntheses that consume MP.)

Synthesizing abilities offer an effective approach to inflict heavy damage on targets, especially when you lack specific skills that could expose their vulnerabilities.

However, Synthesis can cost a fairly hefty sum of MP, and for all involved party members at that.

If you’re frequently employing your Synthesis abilities, you might find the Magic Link feature particularly valuable within the Elemental Master Archetype.

The Magic Link reduces the MP cost for Synthesis abilities by half, but it applies solely to those abilities that require MP to be used in the first place.
