As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the skills presented in this article are nothing short of extraordinary. The attention to detail and strategic depth displayed by the developers is truly commendable.
Refantazio’s combat offers a delightfully innovative twist on traditional RPG gameplay, drawing comparisons with Atlus’ renowned titles yet maintaining its unique identity. Unlike games such as Shin Megami Tensei or Persona series, it introduces the Synthesis Skill mechanic, which bears resemblance to the double techs from Chrono Trigger.
Teams of players can combine forces by grouping two or even three characters together to activate extraordinary combat skills. These skills aren’t equally strong, with some being more potent than others; it’s crucial to prioritize the more powerful ones in battle.
6. Debilitate
Strong Early Option But Outclasses Later
- Description: Decrease one enemy’s Attack/Defense/Hit/Evasion for 3 turns.
- Archetype: Faker or Trickster
- Type: Support
- Mana Cost: 24 MP
- Turn Cost: 3
- First Ally Requirement: Thief, Faker, Merchant, Assassin, Ninja, Trickster, Tycoon, Prince, or Royal Thief
- Second Ally Requirement: Thief, Faker, Merchant, Assassin, Ninja, Trickster, Tycoon, Prince, or Royal Thief.
In the realm of “Shin Megami Tensei,” debilitate is a standard feature. Yet, when combined with extra abilities and systems, its effectiveness seems slightly diminished compared to its performance in other Atlus games.
This ability is accessible to players who want its benefits without having to invest time in elevating the Knight character class to the advanced Peerless Shadow and Peerless Sanctity levels. Since it can be obtained with basic character classes, it’s ideal for early-game runs of “Metaphor: ReFantazio“. However, when it comes to other skill combinations, the trio of synthesis skills are far superior.
5. Peerless Shadow
Devastating Against Enemies Weak To Dark
- Description: Deals severe physical Dark damage to all enemies. Decreases their Attack/Defense/Hit/Evasion for 3 turns.
- Archetype: Dark Knight / Royal Knight
- Type: Dark
- Mana Cost: 25 MP
- Turn Cost: 3
- First Ally Requirement: Warrior, Thief, Masked Dancer, Swordmaster, Assassin, Samurai, Ninja, Persona Master, Prince, Royal Warrior, Royal Thief, or Royal Masked Dancer
- Second Ally Requirement: Knight, Healer, Commander, Magic Knight, Cleric, General, Paladin, Dark Knight, Savior, Warlord, Prince, or Royal Knight
Exceptional shadow skill stands out as one of the finest synthesis abilities and among the top skills in the game Metaphor: ReFantazio! To acquire this talent, players must initially unveil the Dark Knight character type once they’ve mastered the Knight character type. This capability enables the player to inflict substantial damage on their target while simultaneously weakening it. Skills with multiple uses generally prove more advantageous, and although its cost is steep, this ability is particularly damaging to formidable foes who are also vulnerable to Dark damage.
4. Peerless Sanctity
Devastating Against Enemies Weak To Light
- Description: Deals severe physical Light damage to all enemies. Decreases their Attack/Defence/Hit/Evasion for 3 turns.
- Archetype: Paladin / Royal Knight
- Type: Light
- Mana Cost: 25 MP
- Turn Cost: 3
- First Ally Requirement: Seeker, Knight, Commander, Magic Seeker, Magic Knight, General, Soul Hacker, Paladin, Dark Knight, Warlord, Prince, or Royal Knight
- Second Ally Requirement: Knight, Healer, Commander, Magic Knight, Cleric, General, Paladin, Dark Knight, Savior, Warlord, Prince, or Royal Knight
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my excitement about Peerless Sanctity – the lighter counterpart of the once-dark skill! Although it might deliver damage in a different way, make no mistake, it still carries an equal amount of power! To wield this formidable ability, gamers need to progress through the Knight archetype tree and eventually unlock the Paladin archetype. It’s much like the transformation from Dark Knight to the beacon of hope – Paladin!
This ability shares similar strengths as Peerless Shadow, but it distinctively deals Light damage instead.
3. Precipice Of The Abyss
Strong & Consistent Damage For Mid-Game
- Description: Deals severe magic Almighty damage to all enemies.
- Archetype: Elemental Master
- Type: Almighty
- Mana Cost: 35 MP
- Turn Cost: 3
- First Ally Requirement: Seeker, Mage, Healer, Magic Seeker, Wizard, Cleric, Soul Hacker, Elemental Master, Warlock, Savior, or Prince
- Second Ally Requirement: Mage, Masked Dancer, Summoner, Wizard, Elemental Master, Warlock, Persona Master, Devil Summoner, Prince, Royal Masked Dancer, or Royal Summoner
Unstoppable harm is the most effective damage type in the game since it can’t be reduced. What makes it even more appealing is that players don’t have to fully develop the Faker character class to utilize this ability, which means it’s a viable choice for mid-game damage dealers as well.
At the Brink of Oblivion inflicts substantial damage of this type on all adversaries during combat, making it a potent and reliable damage choice. However, being nearly true damage, it doesn’t provide additional turns as a trade-off. In some instances, utilizing other actions might be more advantageous with a turn cost of 3. Yet, if the goal is purely dealing damage, At the Brink of Oblivion remains an unerring choice.
2. Miracle Cirque
Great Damage For No Mana Cost
- Description: Deals extreme physical Almighty damage to all enemies without consuming MP.
- Archetype: Trickster
- Type: Almighty
- Mana Cost: 0 MP
- Turn Cost: 3
- First Ally Requirement: Knight, Healer, Commander, Magic Knight, Cleric, General, Paladin, Dark Knight, Savior, Warlord, Prince, Royal Knight
- Second Ally Requirement: Thief, Faker, Merchant, Assassin, Ninja, Trickster, Tycoon, Prince, Royal Thief
Miracle Cirque packs quite a punch, and it’s no secret why. The fact that it can dish out the maximum damage without requiring any resources should never be taken lightly.
Using Miracle Cirque may cause the player to lose three turn tokens, but its capability to dish out reliable damage without any mana expenditure gives it an edge over Precipice of the Abyss, making it somewhat more advantageous.
1. Armageddon’s Final Sire
Excellent Damage For A Royal Team
- Description: Deals 9,999 damage to all enemies.
- Archetype: Prince
- Type: Almighty
- Mana Cost: 99 MP
- Turn Cost: 4
- Ally Requirement: Royal Warrior, Royal Knight, Royal Thief, Royal Masked Dancer, Royal Summoner, Royal Berserker
To employ this ability, every ally should employ a Royal Archetype. The climactic attack of Metaphor ReFantazio, known as Armageddon’s Final Sire, serves as its near-final attack. Although it may not be effective against late-game bosses due to their health exceeding 9,999, it is incredibly handy for swiftly eliminating common enemies while completing side quests or leveling up a bit more before tackling the game’s later segments.
