Metaphor: ReFantazio - More's Task Chapter Two: Solitude Guide

As a seasoned adventurer who has dabbled in countless RPGs and immersive worlds, I can confidently say that my journey with Metaphor: ReFantazio is shaping up to be an unforgettable one. One of the unique aspects that caught my eye is the intricate system of unlocking Archetypes by nurturing relationships with followers.

In the imaginative world of ReFantazio, players can discover fresh character types by interacting with and advancing followers. By spending time with these characters, you’ll gradually unlock their associated Archetypes, with more elite variations becoming available as you progressively level up each follower.

As a gamer, I found myself eagerly seeking out all potential companions at the game’s onset, aiming to establish their base Archetypes and kick-start their leveling process. More’s quests served as valuable compass points for those elusive Archetypes that could easily be missed. In particular, More’s Task Chapter Two: Solitude, demanded the player to elevate the Merchant Archetype to level 15; here’s a breakdown on how to unlock it.

How To Unlock The Merchant Archetype In Metaphor: ReFantazio

The Merchant Archetype is that of your follower Brigitta, the Igniter Merchantess you meet during your first trip down the main road of Grand Trad. To unlock Brigitta as a follower, you’ll first need to get to Wisdom level 2. In Grand Trad, this can be done by sitting on the bench to check “View of The Royal Capital” which is found just to the right of Brigitta’s Igniter shop.

Alongside assisting with the “Aid the Silent Beekeeper” task and working at the inn on the same evening, you can finish the quest. Submitting it the following day will earn sufficient Wisdom points for a rank upgrade, enabling you to commence Brigitta’s quest, “The Bullish Embargo.” This mission will consume one day as you’ll journey to a neighboring dungeon and engage in battles leading up to the challenging boss, Guptauros the Grotesque. This encounter is particularly tough if you’re attempting it during leisure time in Grand Trad.

After defeating the boss, come back to Brigitta the following day where she’ll grant you a reward for finishing the mission, as well as welcoming herself as one of your companions, and enabling the Merchant Archetype for you.

How To Quickly Level Up An Archetype In Metaphor: ReFantazio

To complete More’s request, you’ll need to get the Merchant Archetype to level 15 on any party member. The Merchant is a very unique Archetype in that it deals Almighty damage, though it uses Reeve for its main skill. If spending your money to attack doesn’t sound like something you want to do, here are a few other ways to quickly level up the Archetype and complete More’s request.

  • Use Hero’s Incense or Hero’s Fruit for XP straight to that Archetype. These are common quest rewards, though be careful using them all at once for one quest. (You also got many of these as a pre-order bonus for the game)
  • Overworld combat in a dungeon with respawnable enemies you can kill without Squad combat.
