As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of RPG exploration under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation that borders on excitement when it comes to Metaphor: ReFantazio. The diverse voice cast, led by familiar faces from various gaming universes, promises a rich and engaging narrative experience.

Atlus recently announced the cast of voices for the characters in the game Metaphor: ReFantazio. A total of eleven voice actors have been unveiled, including party members, travelers, and election candidates. Unlike the series Persona, in Metaphor: ReFantazio, the protagonist will not be silent – a voice actor for this character has also been chosen.

As a passionate gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating my next adventure with “Metaphor: ReFantazio,” a game being crafted by Studio Zero, a creative powerhouse under the Atlus umbrella known for branching out beyond their renowned franchises like Shin Megami Tensei and Persona. Leading this division is none other than Katsura Hashino, the mastermind behind several beloved Persona titles and the director of Metaphor: ReFantazio itself.

Just got word about the stellar cast for the upcoming game “Metaphor: ReFantazio”! I’m beyond excited to see Caleb Yen (from “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth”) bring our protagonist to life. The lineup also boasts Alejandra Reynoso (“Castlevania” TV series) as Gallica, Stewart Clarke (“Final Fantasy 16”) as Strohl, Kristin Atherton (“Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden”) as Hulkenberg, and Phillipe Spall (“Amnesia: The Bunker”) as Heismay. So far, these five talented individuals have been confirmed as party members. Atlus hinted that there will be a total of seven party members in the game, which means even more diverse characters to connect with in “Metaphor: ReFantazio”! Can’t wait to see who they’ll announce next!

Metaphor: ReFantazio Cast List

  • Protagonist (Caleb Yen)
  • Strohl (Stewart Clarke)
  • Hulkenberg (Kristin Atherton)
  • Gallica (Alejandra Reynoso)
  • Heismay (Phillipe Spall)
  • Junah (Emma Ballantine)
  • Eupha (Emily Burnett)
  • Neuras (David Monteith)
  • Louis (Joseph Tweedale)
  • More (Greg Chun)
  • Grius (Gordon Cooper)

In addition to Emma Ballantine, who voices Junah from Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, we have Emily Burnett playing Eupha, David Monteith as Neuras, Joseph Tweedale as Louis, Greg Chun as More, and Gordon Cooper as Grius. These roles encompass a variety of characters, including election candidates in Metaphor: ReFantazio and the protagonist’s travel companions.

In the same press release that unveiled the voice actors, Atlus announced that “Metaphor: ReFantazio” will be showcased at Xbox’s Gamescom 2024 event. This special appearance will include an interview with Stewart Clarke and Kristin Atherton, who portray Strohl and Hulkenberg in the game. During this session, they will share behind-the-scenes details about the recording process and address fan questions regarding the RPG. Additionally, a playable demo of “Metaphor: ReFantazio” will be showcased, offering attendees a sneak peek at new content.

Although we’ve secured our English voice actors, the Japanese version of “Metaphor: ReFantazio” has encountered some delays due to recent changes in its voice casting. In June this year, Atlus announced that they had replaced voice actor Toru Furuya following accusations of misconduct. Unfortunately, the character Furuya was slated to voice hadn’t been disclosed before his dismissal. However, it’s worth noting that Furuya has a rich history in anime with popular roles like Seiya from “Knights of the Zodiac,” Yamcha from “Dragon Ball,” and Amuro Ray from the “Gundam” series. At this time, Atlus hasn’t unveiled the entire Japanese voice cast for “Metaphor: ReFantazio.”
