Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Gameplay Reveals New Twist for Samus

Among the many expectations surrounding today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, there was much anticipation for updates regarding Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Some speculated that the game might be delayed until the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, but its appearance in today’s broadcast has certainly come as a delightful surprise to fans.

After releasing a sneak peek last year, we now get to see the initial gameplay reveal of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

As a devoted fan, I found myself whisked away to the captivating world of Viewros in the classic style of Metroid Prime. My mission: delve into the planet’s rich history by scanning its relics and forging a path towards freedom. In keeping with the series’ signature approach, I was not embarking on this journey alone – the delicate dance between immersive first-person exploration and intense combat would be essential to my survival.

In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Samus Aran is set to acquire fresh psychic capabilities. The gameplay trailer demonstrates examples such as unlocking doors, manipulating objects, and adjusting the course of beams and missiles. However, the reason for her gaining these powers remains a mystery that we’ll uncover in due time.

The trailer concludes hinting at a fresh storyline as the connections between space and time start to spin a new yarn. Additionally, there’s a sneak peek at a brand-new outfit for Samus, with more details coming soon.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is Still A Nintendo Switch Title…For Now

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is planned for launch on the Nintendo Switch in 2025. However, since today’s Nintendo Direct doesn’t delve into Switch 2 games, it remains unclear if the game will be optimized for the Switch 2 similar to how Breath of the Wild was compared to its Wii U version.

One great aspect of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is its ability to run the entire catalog of Nintendo Switch games, making it possible for you to easily enjoy Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on the new console without any issues. However, whether it will leverage the enhanced capabilities of the more powerful hardware remains uncertain.

We won’t have to wait long, though, as the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct airs next week.
