Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Receives ESRB Rating Ahead of Launch

The upcoming game Metroid Prime 4 is getting nearer to its release, and recently, it has been rated by the ESRB before hitting the stores.

Following the receipt of a rating from the South Korean board last month, the ESRB rating for the game has now been confirmed. This adds another checkmark to the game’s list of requirements before its anticipated release window of 2025, which Nintendo recently reaffirmed.

It seems that an official release date hasn’t been announced yet, but considering ratings from two different regions have already been confirmed, it’s likely that the news is about to surface soon.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Rated T by ESRB

According to a recent announcement, the Nintendo Store’s new title, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, carries a ‘T for Teen’ rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). The game includes elements such as animated blood, violent scenes, and in-app purchases.

At this year’s Gamescom event, it’s possible to experience a playable demo of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. This suggests that the game’s launch might be just around the corner, and given the recent Nintendo Direct centered on Kirby Air Riders, Nintendo may now be shifting focus towards the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

After the debut of the Switch 2, Nintendo has chosen to present major game launches through individual Direct shows, a strategy they’ve employed with games like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Kirby Air Riders (set for release on November 20).

As a dedicated fan, I’m excited to share that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, unlike the previous three games, isn’t exclusive to the Switch 2. However, it’s still one of the highly anticipated Nintendo releases this year, joining forces with Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which drops on October 16.

The expected release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is likely approaching soon, as indicated by the ESRB rating, with just a handful of remaining tasks to complete.
