In Metroid Prime 4, a key objective at the Volt Forge is to restore power to the generator. This will unlock Vi-O-La, Samus’ motorcycle. While activating the generator is fairly straightforward, some players may find themselves unsure of where to go next after they’ve restored the power.
This guide will help you navigate the Manufacturing Floor room in Volt Forge within Metroid Prime 4, showing you what you need to do to continue through the area.
Where to Go in Metroid Prime 4 After Turning on the Generator in Volt Forge (Manufacturing Floor)
Become One With the Ball
After you leave Volt Forge and restore power, return to the Manufacturing Floor. That’s where you’ll see the machines assembling the Vi-O-La.
To get back, you can follow these steps:
- Go through the Morph Ball hole that you came in through after the generator is on.
- Make your way left through the 2D Morph Ball area with the electricity (make sure to avoid the sparks to conserve Samus’ energy).
- Keep going, and you’ll fall right back onto the Manufacturing Floor.
Here’s what to do once you’re back on the Manufacturing Floor:

- From here, scan the terminal on the opposite side of the room to turn on all component printers and initialize the manufacturing line. You actually need to interact with it after you scan it.
- You’ll see a bunch of mechanical arms working on pieces of the motorcycle.
- If you look closely, one of the machines is working on the cycle’s tires, which happen to look exactly like Samus’ Morph Ball.
- Go into Morph Ball mode, roll onto the tire’s spot, and wait for the arm to grab Samus, lifting her to the floor above.
- From here, you can find a door leading to the Volt Forge elevator, and you can also activate a lift that’ll take you down to the Manufacturing Floor (and back up), so you don’t need the help of the mechanical arm anymore.
