Miami Heretics Kick Off Lower Bracket Run Hopes at CDL Major I

The first major Call of Duty League tournament is happening in Dallas, Texas, and it’s already been full of surprises. Several teams were quickly eliminated in the early rounds, including Toronto KOI, Carolina Royal Ravens, Vancouver Surge, Boston Breach, and Cloud9 New York.

Most of the teams eliminated so far were defeated by the Miami Heretics, who knocked out both Toronto and Vancouver, ending their chances of winning the championship. While the Miami Heretics haven’t had a consistently strong season, they could still make a deep run through the loser’s bracket.

Can Miami Heretics Run Through The Elimination Bracket?

Miami Heretics didn’t start Major I with a strong record. They’ve won 3 out of 7 matches this season, placing them ninth out of twelve teams. Currently, they’re positioned between Toronto KOI and Boston Breach, which puts them fairly low in the Call of Duty League standings.

Honestly, I was so impressed with Heretics! They really seemed to lock in before their match against Toronto KOI. It was an unbelievably close series, going all the way to 3-2, and they managed to pull out the win! The final Search round was decided by just two rounds – it was that tight! You could feel the tension.

The match against Vancouver Surge was pretty evenly matched overall. Heretics defeated Surge, who are currently at the bottom of the leaderboard, without letting them win a single game.

The Heretics team will likely have a more difficult challenge in their next match. They’ll be up against either Paris Gentle Mates or the LA Thieves, who finished first and fifth last season, respectively. Both teams have made significant changes to their rosters recently.

This season of the Call of Duty League has been surprisingly difficult to predict. Currently, four teams – Gentle Mates, FaZe Vegas, Riyadh Falcons, and the Carolina Royal Ravens – all have the same number of match wins. LAT and OpTic are right behind them, making the competition incredibly close.

Honestly, things are still pretty open right now. It feels like anyone could win, but I’m hoping as the year goes on, we’ll start to see a clear frontrunner emerge. Right now, it’s a total free-for-all!
