Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 On PC Wants 64GB RAM To Run At Its Best

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the spec requirements for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are nothing short of jaw-dropping! Back in my day, we played games on computers that could barely run Windows 3.1 and were lucky to have 8MB of RAM. Now, they’re recommending a whopping 64GB just for an “ideal” experience!

To enjoy a smooth experience with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 upon its release in November, ensure your computer has sufficient power.

Microsoft released the PC spec requirements for the game, and they can get quite beefy.

As per the specifications outlined, Microsoft advises gamers to have at least a AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or Intel Core i7-10700K processor, an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card, and 32GB of memory for the game. For a more optimal gaming experience, it’s recommended that players have a Ryzen 9 7900X or i7-14700K processor, an Radeon RX 7900 XT or GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card, and a substantial 64GB of memory in their system.

For those who only want to play with the game running on its lowest settings, there are more relaxed system requirements available. These specifications include using either a Ryzen 5 2600X or an Intel Core i7-6800X CPU, a Radeon RX 5700 or Nvidia GeForce RTX 970 GPU, and 16GB of RAM. In other words, if you’re concerned about not being able to run the game at all, a moderately modern PC should be sufficient for some form of playability.

32GB DDR5 Ram no longer ideal, eh?

If you’re worried about whether you can play the game, you can access it through Xbox Game Pass. This means you can either play it using your existing subscription or try it out first by signing up for a free trial, which lets you test if it runs smoothly before committing to a purchase.
