At the Tokyo Game Show 2025, Xbox announced a new Japan World update for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This update lets players discover new and interesting locations throughout Japan. It was one of many exciting reveals during the show, and fans of both Microsoft Flight Simulator and the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 can download the free update today.

The popular flight simulator, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, is coming to PlayStation 5 this December, ending months of rumors. Following Microsoft’s trend of releasing its games on multiple platforms, fans are excited about the news, and pre-orders are now available. Players with a PlayStation VR2 headset will also be able to experience an even more immersive version of the game, as VR support has been confirmed.

Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Japan World Update Is Now Live

Asobo Studio announced the Japan World Update for *Microsoft Flight Simulator* during a presentation at Tokyo Game Show 2025 on September 25th, and shared details on their official website. The team says this is one of their biggest world updates yet, significantly improving 23 locations across Japan. Players will be able to explore famous landmarks like Fukuoka Tower, Akinada Bridge, and Osaka Castle in the game. The update also adds five new airports: Hokkaido Spaceport, Kitakyushu Airport, Rishiri Airport, Sado Airport, and Satsuma Iojima Airport. This free update for both *Flight Simulator 2020* and *2024* includes three new discovery flights, three landing challenges, a spotlight event, and a bush trip.

Although *Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024* had a rocky start with glitches and server problems for many Xbox players, player reviews have gotten better as the developers at Asobo Studio have released consistent updates. Some players still experience performance issues, but the game’s new features and modes have given fans reason to be optimistic that these problems will be fixed.

As a huge Forza fan, I was absolutely thrilled to hear that *Forza Horizon 6* is officially set in Japan! It was the biggest news from the Xbox presentation at Tokyo Game Show 2025, and Microsoft has promised we’ll be able to play it in 2026. It’s a bit frustrating that we didn’t get to see any actual gameplay yet, but I, like everyone else, am already desperate to know everything about the next game in the series!
