Microsoft Says Current Forza Motorsport Support Will Continue

Turn 10 and Playground Games will “continue to support Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.”

On Thursday, the developers expressed their gratitude for the remarkable support shown by their community on a social media post. They additionally clarified that the support for Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5 would not be discontinued.

They emphasized that both Turn 10 and Playground Games will keep providing updates for Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5, ensuring players’ continued enjoyment.

After that, the team shared a post detailing upcoming features for Forza Motorsport. These upcoming changes involve exciting tour routes, fresh cars that can be unlocked via challenges, and new formidable opponents. The new update will be available starting September 4th.

Although it’s positive that the game will continue to be supported, the announcement didn’t touch upon the future of the Forza Motorsport franchise.

Following Microsoft’s recent layoffs at Xbox in July, it appears that Turn 10 Studios took a significant hit. Based on reports circulating, as much as half of the team may have been let go. The studio seems to have transitioned into a support role for the Forza Horizon series, with the mainline series being put on hold or possibly even canceled. As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness at this development.

Despite repeated attempts by TopMob, both Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios have yet to provide a response regarding the current status of the Forza Motorsport series.

The latest installment of the Forza Horizon series, Forza Horizon 6, is being actively worked on by its creators, Playground Games. Simultaneously, they’re also reviving the beloved Fable series.
