Summary
- Stranger Things season 5 Part 1 arrives in November with a “crazy” cold open.
- Fans want Mike Wheeler to have a more compelling storyline and growth in the final season.
- The fate of Mike and Eleven’s relationship is uncertain, with a focus on Mike’s individual development.
Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things” is set to release its fifth season’s part one in November, and I can hardly wait! When Ross Duffer hinted that the opening scene for episode one would be “wild,” it got me thinking. With such a long gap since the previous season, I’m eager to know which primary characters will make an appearance right off the bat. I really hope Millie Bobby Brown’s character Eleven is prominently featured in this scene. Moreover, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll see Jamie Campbell Bower’s character Vecna relatively early on in the season. Given that fans have been eagerly awaiting his return since July 2022 when the last season ended on Netflix, it would make sense for him to appear sooner rather than later.
Although it’s tempting to want to watch all the episodes of Stranger Things season 5 simultaneously rather than in a three-part release, fans can look forward to discovering the conclusion of the epic storyline within just a few months. However, when the show comes back, I believe Mike Wheeler (played by Finn Wolfhard) deserves a more compelling plot compared to what he’s had so far.
Mike Wheeler Needs A Great Stranger Things Season 5 Storyline

As a die-hard Stranger Things fan, I’ve always appreciated Mike Wheeler’s quirky humor and heartfelt moments. However, compared to other characters, he doesn’t seem to have many significant storylines or standout scenes that make him truly memorable. In season 5, I’d love to see the writers shift gears a bit and give Mike his own mission beyond his relationship with Eleven. It’s time for him to step out of her shadow and carve his own path in Hawkins!
Given that Eleven will likely take center stage in the upcoming season, it leaves room for Mike to explore his identity apart from her. He might delve into uncovering the truth about Vecna and the Upside Down, or he could form alliances and develop friendships with other characters. It’s intriguing to imagine Mike being influenced by Eleven’s self-assuredness and taking on a leadership position himself.

Among his intelligent friends, Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike stands out less due to a less vibrant personality. Viewers have primarily observed him forming bonds with Eleven or navigating their long-distance relationship in season 4. Despite being a lifelong resident of Hawkins and a member of the group for many years, Mike doesn’t possess the unique traits that make Dustin quirky or display the kindness and compassion that characterize Will.
As a devoted fan of Stranger Things, I can’t help but root for Eleven in her fight against Vecna. But, there’s another character whose development I eagerly anticipate – Mike. While he’s been a crucial part of the story, his character could use some depth and growth. Instead of grappling with his emotions or issues, he often finds himself growing frustrated or agitated. Given that Stranger Things is essentially about adolescence, it feels right for him to mature and evolve as we journey through this captivating tale.
Should Mike And Eleven Stay Together In Stranger Things Season 5?

Discussing Mike Wheeler in season 5 of Stranger Things wouldn’t feel complete without considering the possible outcome of his relationship with Eleven. While it seems implausible that they wouldn’t end up together, I also find myself pondering what would happen if they parted ways. Yet, a hint of future hope for their relationship, even after a potential breakup, could add an engaging twist to the storyline.
In my opinion, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the story of Mike and Eleven in Stranger Things season 5 to shift focus from their relationship to strengthening Will Byers’ friendship with Mike. They’ve been friends for quite some time, and I believe they both need to reconnect. It would be intriguing if Mike could grow and develop as a character while standing on his own.
