Mina the Hollower Gets Exciting and Encouraging Update

Yacht Club Games announced that their next big game, Mina the Hollower, will launch in spring 2026, though they haven’t set a specific release date yet. The game comes from the creators of the popular side-scrolling platformer Shovel Knight, which first came out in 2014. When it’s released, Mina the Hollower will be playable on Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC.

Yacht Club Games, the creators of Shovel Knight, are aiming for another success with Mina the Hollower, a new game inspired by classic retro titles. Unlike Shovel Knight‘s side-scrolling gameplay, Mina the Hollower is a top-down action-adventure game, similar to older Zelda games. A demo was available on Steam during Steam Next Fest in June 2025, and players who tried it will be able to continue their progress when the full game releases. Luckily, it doesn’t seem like fans will have to wait much longer to play the complete version.

Mina the Hollower Launches Spring 2026

I was so excited to read the latest update on Mina the Hollower from Yacht Club Games! It’s been delayed until spring 2026, which is a bit of a wait, but honestly, I’m just glad we’re getting a clearer idea of when it’ll finally be here. Even better, they announced a demo is coming out on February 13th! It’s a limited-time thing, and unfortunately, it’s only for PlayStation 5 owners, but the coolest part is that any progress you make in the demo will carry over to the full game when it launches. That’s a great way to get a head start and really get into the world before the official release. I’m really looking forward to playing it on all the platforms it will be available on!

The demo lets players try out the beginning of the game, including a fight with the first boss. While just a taste of the full experience, Yacht Club Games shares that Mina the Hollower is a substantial game. It features 25 unique bosses and mini-bosses, weapon upgrades, 60 collectible trinkets, various gameplay modifiers, a New Game Plus mode, and a complete leveling system. There’s even a relaxing fishing mini-game for players to enjoy.

Yacht Club Games says that Mina the Hollower is their biggest project yet, promising over 20 hours of gameplay. There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the game, especially since its successful Kickstarter campaign. Like their previous hit, Shovel Knight, crowdfunding was essential to making Mina the Hollower a reality. The developers have a talent for creating memorable characters – as seen with Shovel Knight – and Mina could become just as popular. With a confirmed release window and a playable demo now available on PlayStation 5, fans are feeling hopeful about the game’s future.
