The Spring Update for Minecraft brings a wealth of fresh elements into the game. This includes an array of new mob types and attractive blocks such as Leaf Litter. There’s more than enough novelty to engage players thoroughly. Among these exciting novelties are Cactus Flowers.
Cactus Blossoms are the newest type of flowers that have been incorporated into Minecraft. It seems like every update has been introducing more floral options recently (and who wouldn’t be delighted?). Following Wildflowers and Eyebloom Flowers, we now have Cactus Blossoms, which are equally charming and ideal for adorning your world. However, one may wonder where to locate them or if there are any other uses besides decoration. In this tutorial, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Cactus Blossoms in Minecraft.
How to Get Cactus Flowers in Minecraft
To get your hands on Cactus Flowers, you’ll have to go to one of these four biomes:
- Badlands
- Eroded Badlands
- Wooded Badlands
- Deserts.
Upon arrival, seek out Cacti as they’re the ones sporting the beautiful pink blooms at their summit. However, remember not all cacti bear flowers – it’s roughly a 25% chance. But here’s an interesting fact: the taller the cactus, the more likely it is to have a flower gracing its peak.
In simpler terms, for a cactus to be less than 3 blocks high, it has about a 10% chance of sprouting a flower on its peak rather than growing taller. However, once the cactus exceeds 3 blocks in height, the probability increases to 25%. Additionally, the flower requires some space for growth; it will only bloom if there’s open space surrounding the cactus on all four sides.
As a devoted Minecraft enthusiast, I’ve noticed an exciting difference between Deserts and the three Badlands biomes: there are significantly more cacti naturally growing in Deserts! Just like with Leaf Litter, you can manually break and collect Cactus Flowers using your hands or any tool.
What are Cactus Flowers Used for in Minecraft

As a gamer, I often find myself in need of colorful items to customize my virtual world in Minecraft. Just like the vibrant Eyeblossom Flowers from the Bundles of Bravery update, Cactus Flowers can serve this purpose, providing a lovely pink dye. To achieve this, all you’ll need is a crafting table, which can be fashioned by four wooden planks if you don’t already have one. Once your table is set up, simply place the Cactus Flower into it and voila! You’ll soon have yourself a batch of delightful pink dye to brighten up your Minecraft adventure.
An intriguing application of Cactus Flowers lies in attracting honeybees. Should you happen to grasp one, bees may follow you persistently. Offering the flower to a bee could stimulate its mating behavior, leading it to eventually produce new bees.
