A Minecraft player has designed a cute, baby version of the Ender Dragon, and it’s quickly gaining popularity online. The Ender Dragon is a famously challenging boss in Minecraft, meant to be a scary opponent. But this fan’s idea gives the massive creature a much more lovable look.
Mojang quickly kicked off 2026 by announcing fresh content for their next game update. A major highlight is a complete redesign of baby animals – including wolf pups, kittens, piglets, calves, chicks, ocelots, lambs, and rabbits – to make them even cuter and more unique. Previously, baby versions were simply smaller copies of adults with oversized heads. This update gives each baby animal a brand new look. The update also includes new baby versions of rideable creatures. Unsurprisingly, Minecraft players are already loving the adorable redesigns, and many are hoping to see baby versions of even more in-game creatures!
Minecraft Fan’s Baby Ender Dragon Concept
A Reddit user named w11shes came up with a fun idea for Minecraft: a baby Ender Dragon! They designed a smaller, cuter version of the creature, even including an egg. While still having glowing purple eyes and wings, this baby dragon is much less intimidating than the adult version.
A cool idea for a new Ender Dragon is popular on Reddit, receiving lots of upvotes. The original poster, w11shes, didn’t explain how it would work, but other players quickly shared their thoughts. One popular suggestion was to add a Baby Ender Dragon as a friendly creature that players could ride. Reddit user Trick-Caramel-6156 proposed it could even shoot projectiles at enemies. While balancing this feature might be tricky, many believe it could fit well with existing transportation options like the Happy Ghast and Elytra in Minecraft.
The release date for the next Minecraft update is still a mystery, but players can already try out many of the new features through Java snapshots and the Bedrock beta/preview. Although some fans doubt it, Mojang will probably share more details about the update soon. Considering how well-received the recent baby farm mobs were, a Baby Ender Dragon would likely be popular if added. Even if Mojang doesn’t include it, the active Minecraft modding community might create it as an unofficial addition.
It’s still unknown what Mojang will add to the game in the future, but players have plenty to be excited about right now. With ongoing support from the developers, the game continues to be incredibly popular. In fact, Minecraft was among the top 5 most-played games on Xbox and PlayStation in 2025, following major titles like Fortnite and GTA 5. If Mojang keeps adding content that players love, such as the recent baby mobs, it has a good chance of staying popular well into 2026.
We’re hoping to find out when the next game update will be released soon, so players know when these cute new features will be added. Until then, it will be fun to see what other creative ideas from Minecraft fans are shared with the community.
