Minecraft Releases New Snapshot Update for August 2025

In the latest Java version of Minecraft, gamers can explore and experiment with a fresh snapshot featuring brand-new Copper Decorations for their building projects. Although this Minecraft update may seem modest in its overall impact, it also encompasses numerous enhancements aimed at improving user experience.

This year, Mojang has had a packed schedule, releasing two new games – Spring to Life and Chase the Skies. They also have another game scheduled for fall 2025. Although fans might need to wait a few more months before this upcoming content becomes part of the main game, some of its features are currently being tested. This early access has allowed players to try out elements like the Copper Golem Statue and Shelf Block in Minecraft. More testable content has also been added recently.

In the 25w32a version of Minecraft on the Java edition’s experimental branch, players can now utilize Copper Decorations. This update enriches the customization possibilities when crafting structures in Minecraft. New additions include the Copper Torch, Copper Bars, Copper Chain, and Copper Lantern. The oxidation effect, which causes these items to change color over time due to exposure, makes them visually distinct from their previous versions.

In addition to the fresh Copper Decorations introduced in snapshot 25w32a, Mojang also implemented a few other modifications. As per the update’s notes, items placed on Shelf Blocks are now adjusted to rest comfortably on the shelf itself. Additionally, the design of the Copper Golem Statue was fine-tuned so that it would be obtainable as an item upon mining or when pushed off by a piston. Furthermore, the name of the Chain block has been changed to “Iron Chain,” and crafting a Copper Trapdoor now requires four Copper Ingots, making the process slightly more accessible.

It’s intriguing to anticipate how Java players will apply the upcoming Copper Decorations in the near future. As for Bedrock players, they’ll need to be patient a while longer before getting to try out these fresh Minecraft features, but Mojang has shared that the decorations are due for preview and beta testing soon.

In the upcoming weeks, it remains to be seen what new features Mojang will incorporate into the game through snapshot updates. With countless players still enjoying Minecraft, excitement for the next installment is palpable. Yet, there’s plenty more to explore about the game in the interim. For instance, the Sonic the Hedgehog add-on pack has just received an update, introducing Super Sonic and Super Shadow characters. Moreover, aside from Minecraft Marketplace content, Mojang recently released a music disc inspired by “A Minecraft Movie” in last month’s patch.
