As a dedicated fan of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and a long-time player, I’ve seen my fair share of cheating incidents throughout the years. The recent addition of the game to Xbox Game Pass brought both excitement and concern for me. On one hand, more players now have access to this classic title, but on the other hand, it seems that cheaters are following suit.
As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty series, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the addition of Modern Warfare 3 to Xbox Game Pass. The excitement was palpable when Microsoft finally announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzard and the prospect of playing this classic game on my Xbox console.
Since the introduction of crossplay in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019, there has been a significant increase in cheating. Some players blatantly use hacks and show no remorse, while others are more cunning, employing wall hacks without giving it away.
If you suspect a player of cheating, it’s less common for console gamers to use unauthorized software compared to PC players. Therefore, it might be worth assuming their actions are legitimate before jumping to conclusions.
Instead of using the Xbox App for Windows to access Game Pass for PC, players are essentially represented as Xbox users within games. As a result, those looking to conceal their use of cheats may face fewer reports due to being excluded from Xbox’s reporting system. Microsoft has yet to introduce a distinct icon to identify PC players, so it might be confusing to determine which platform someone is using.
Cheaters appear to have few impediments when creating new accounts and exploiting the low-cost, initial Game Pass membership of just a dollar for two weeks. Consequently, the number of cheaters could significantly increase due to their ability to obtain the game virtually for free on a continuous basis.
If Black Oops 6 becomes accessible on Game Pass when it releases on October 25, similar issues to those experienced with Modern Warfare 3 might arise if no action is taken.
Activison is persisting in its battle against hackers by closing down two additional well-known cheat services. This comes after a successful lawsuit against a notoriously infamous cheat seller, EngineOwning.
