Monster Hunter Rise, Slime Rancher 2, and More Coming to PS Plus Essential on March 3rd

If you were hoping for PGA Tour 2K25 to be a free PlayStation Plus Essential game next month, don’t worry! Sony has announced March’s free games, and alongside it are two great sequels: Monster Hunter Rise and Slime Rancher 2.

Originally launched for Nintendo Switch in March 2021, Monster Hunter Rise came to other consoles in January 2023. It’s a bit simpler than previous games like World and Wilds, but introduces the Wirebug, a new tool for movement and combat. Players can also ride Palamutes to travel the game’s environments, and experience Rampage, a unique mission type that plays like a tower defense game.

After a long period of testing, Slime Rancher 2 launched last year as the sequel to the popular game, Slime Rancher. Players explore a new planet where they can raise adorable slimes – including some new types – and discover intriguing secrets.

With PGA Tour 2K25, you get the newest installment in 2K’s golf series, created by HB Studios. It features various championships, a revamped MyCareer mode, and other improvements. However, be aware that the game quickly added some controversial in-game purchases after its release. Also available is The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road, which bundles the 2024 expansion with all previous content, making it a good way to start playing this massive online game.

These titles will be available from March 3rd to April 6th. Don’t forget to explore last month’s selections and redeem any you want before they expire.
