The removal of gender-locked armor is not just a welcome change, but a revolutionary one.
The excitement surrounding “Monster Hunter” is reaching its peak due to the numerous exciting updates unveiled at Gamescom. Among these updates, one significant alteration stands out – a major overhaul in the armor sets, which fundamentally alters a long-standing series feature.
In every armor set found within Monster Hunter, you’ve consistently had the option to choose both male and female versions. While the underlying statistics remain consistent across all sets, the style or aesthetic is tailored according to the gender of your character’s Hunter.

Monster Hunter Jhokes on X posted a clip of the reveal, but it’s now confirmed that there is no gender-locked armor in Monster Hunter Wilds.
In this game, you have the freedom to don either masculine or feminine armor versions, irrespective of the gender of your initial Hunter character selection.

It’s unclear whether players require twice as much material to craft both male and female versions of the armor in Monster Hunter. Given that players might invest countless hours into these games, a little extra effort for additional armor variants seems reasonable.
