In Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll find an abundance of fresh weaponry and protective gear for the ardent hunter to pursue. Locating the precise items required to craft the desired equipment is a significant aspect of this pursuit.
Some of these objects can assume various shapes, spanning from specific monster components to minerals found in the wilderness. They can also vary greatly in availability, from being quite common to somewhat elusive. One such item that is harder to come by is known as a Firestone Cell.
How To Get Firecell Stones In Monster Hunter Wilds
In the game Monster Hunter Wilds, the Firecell Stone is a scarcely found mineral. This valuable item can also be obtained from the loot of a particular monster – Gravios. This returning brute wyvern inhabits both the Oilwell Basin and the Ruins of Wyveria. As players advance to High Rank 8 and venture into the high-rank zones, they may encounter Gravios either in the wild or through various quests like investigations and optional quests. To increase your chances of obtaining a Firecell Stone while hunting Gravios, focus on breaking its wounds and specific body parts. The target areas for breaking are:
- Back: 40% drop rate
- Left Leg: 40% drop rate
- Right Leg: 40% drop rate
As a dedicated hunter, I’ve found that shattering components yields a mere 20% success rate. Yet, fortunately, you can attempt this maneuver numerous times during the chase, as the opportunity to break a specific body part arises but once per encounter.
In the same manner as searching for other minerals in the game, you can also hunt for the Firecell Stone. However, it’s exclusive and only appears in mining outcrops within the upgraded Oilwell Basin. You won’t find it in any other outcrops across the entire game. When prospecting for this item, players will need to engage with these specific mining outcrops, yielding three random items drawn from the loot pool associated with the ores obtainable at that location.
After being collected, the outcrop will automatically reset after 15 minutes, preventing immediate re-mining. These outcrops are often clustered along specific zones’ edges, facilitating farming. The Oilwell Basin’s Zone 13 is an excellent location for discovering several mining outcrops, as four of them align almost in a straight line. Additionally, they are strategically located near a potential camp site, enhancing the convenience for farming and enabling quick travel to that zone when needed.

In this adventure, completing a particular sub-mission may bestow players with a Firecell Stone. You’ll find this mission, known as “Succulent Scraps,” offered by Dogard among the assorted NPCs residing in the Oilwell Basin’s main camp. Your objective will be to successfully hunt a Gravios during an unlocked additional quest. After completing this task and returning to Dogard, he will acknowledge your efforts and grant you one Firecell Stone. Although the rewards from side missions can only be claimed once, the optional Gravios quest can be repeated, providing multiple opportunities for obtaining another stone.
