Monster Hunter Wilds: How To Play With Friends And Support Hunters

Here’s a guide on how to play Monster Hunter Wilds with your friends and team up with supporting hunters (AI) in multiplayer co-op mode to participate in hunts together.

Monster Hunter Wilds features a detailed multiplayer system with many choices to explore. You can play with friends using options like Private Lobbies and Linked Parties, among others. If you prefer to play alone, the game also offers support hunters – AI companions who can assist you. These AI hunters do a good amount of damage and frequently take the monster’s attention, which can be very helpful. Because of this, you might even consider joining a lobby that includes both your friends and support hunters.

You can enjoy Monster Hunter Wilds with both your friends and AI support hunters in multiplayer or co-op mode by adjusting a few settings in your lobby and hunts. While the setup isn’t completely obvious, it’s generally a simple process. This article will guide you through the steps to play Monster Hunter Wilds with friends and AI helpers in a multiplayer or co-op environment.

Steps To Play With Friends And Support Hunters In Monster Hunter Wilds

Follow these steps to set up a hunt with friends and support hunters in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Make a Private Lobby or a Linked Party with your friend(s) first.
  • Next, go to your handler (Alma or Erik), or simply head to your Tent.
  • Select Post/Join A Quest, and head to Settings first.
  • Configure the settings to match the table mentioned above.
  • Choose the hunt of your liking.
  • Prep and depart, or depart immediately.
  • Once you go to the quest location, open the menu and select the Join Requests section.
  • Manually approve the players and support hunters that you want.
  • Begin the fight with the monster.

What I’m really excited about in Monster Hunter Wilds is the ability to manually approve my friends and the support hunters I actually *want* in my hunts. It means those random players who try to join through SOS Flares will need my okay before they can join the lobby. And, if I reject an AI support hunter, they won’t bother me for the rest of that hunt! So, I’m definitely going to have to be careful about who I accept or deny – it sounds like a big responsibility, but one I’m happy to have!

A hunt in Monster Hunter Wilds can include up to four hunters – this includes both players and assisting NPCs. You can choose to team up with one friend and two support hunters, or with two friends and just one support hunter.
