Monster Hunter Wilds open beta test 2 is coming in February

In February, Capcom will be hosting another open beta testing for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on PC, Xbox Series S/X, and PlayStation 5.

Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer, revealed some exciting news in a fresh four-minute video. He shared that the upcoming open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds will feature the return of the monster Gypceros. This second open beta will offer players the chance to create their characters, embark on a story mission, and complete the “Slay Doshaguma” quest. Additionally, they’ll have the opportunity to hunt the returning monster, Gypceros.

Check out the video revealing this all, below:

In the second Open Beta Test of Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll get another opportunity to explore an enhanced hunting adventure. This time around, a new monster has been added! After gathering feedback from the first Open Beta Test, our dedicated development team is working diligently to refine and enhance the game prior to its release, taking into account all the suggestions and comments received.

As a dedicated player, I want to highlight an important point: The second Open Beta Test build won’t showcase or incorporate enhancements such as improved performance, weapon adjustments, tweaks to Hitstop, and various quality of life improvements.

In the upcoming second open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds, you can transfer the details you’ve crafted during character creation directly into the full game. However, please note that there won’t be any ability to continue the game’s story from this beta version.

If you participate in the second beta, you’ll receive “exclusive rewards” that Tsujimoto refers to as “perks”. These perks can be used in the complete game. They include a decorative charm for your Seikret weapon and an item pack, both of which are applicable in the full game.

The dates, then, for the beta are:

  • Thursday, February 6th at 7pm to Sunday, February 9th, at 6:59pm
  • Thursday, February 13th at 7pm to Sunday, February 16th at 6:59pm

Capcom has confirmed that the beta can be accessed by PlayStation 5 users even if they don’t subscribe to PlayStation Plus, and by Xbox users who don’t possess Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate.

Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5 on February 28th.
