Last October, Capcom launched a free trial for everyone across all gaming platforms of the newest Monster Hunter series game. If you missed out on it before, here’s some good news: Capcom is now planning another open beta test called Monster Hunter Wilds Test 2.

The announcement accompanied a new trailer greeting players with a Happy New Year 2025.

As a gamer who joined last year’s open beta, I’m excited to share that the latest beta client boasts a fresh monster for us to conquer! Regarding gameplay adjustments and tweaks like balancing, while Capcom has been taking our community feedback, they won’t be incorporated in the February tests.

Contestants receiving recognition for taking part in the Open Beta Test 2 will receive a plush Felyne Teddy charm as their token of appreciation.

Previously, based on community input, Capcom made improvements to the hitstop and weapon systems; however, these alterations will not be seen during the upcoming second round of testing.

Without a doubt, it’s only natural for some data mining to occur during a beta test. In the initial beta phase, several familiar creatures were discovered, hinting at their potential inclusion in the game’s final release. Might we see more such discoveries in the second beta client? It wouldn’t be unusual if that happened.

The action-adventure game titled “Monster Hunter Wilds” is scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, and it will be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, as well as on personal computers through Steam.
