Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Week Extended Due To PSN Outage

Due to the recent downtime experienced on PlayStation Network over the weekend, Capcom has decided to prolong the second open beta testing period for Monster Hunter World across all platforms.

Capcom announced that because of the PlayStation Network downtime in the initial week of OBT2, they are adding an extra 24 hours to the second week of OBT2 across all platforms.

The second phase of our open beta testing begins as scheduled on February 13, 7 PM Pacific Time / 10 PM Eastern Time. But, we’ve extended the closing time by a whole day, so now it finishes on February 18, 6:59 PM Pacific Time / 9:59 PM Eastern Time.

Delighted news for all the hunters! Due to the PlayStation Network downtime during the initial week of Open Beta Test 2 (OBT2), we’re extending the second week by an additional 24 hours on all platforms.

In the forthcoming meeting, we’ll cover the same material as the one that took place over the weekend. Participants will have an opportunity to take on the main creature of the game, the Arkveld, or the White Wraith.

Additionally, players can enter the training zone and establish private hunting grounds with chosen companions. For those who prefer a solitary experience, there’s an option for single-player mode where you can engage in gameplay independently, without requiring a lobby.

In the open beta tests, your game characters can transfer over to the complete game when it launches on February 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. On day one, there will be an update to enhance PS5 Pro compatibility. For more details about the PC version, make sure to try out the fresh system-benchmark test first.

On the 7th of February last week, PlayStation Network experienced a downtime lasting approximately 24 hours. According to Sony, this outage was caused by an operational problem they were addressing. To make up for the inconvenience, Sony added an extra five days to the subscription period for all PlayStation Plus members.
