The Monster Hunter showcase recently happened after a short delay caused by a tsunami warning in Japan. It revealed what fans can look forward to in the Monster Hunter series. The biggest news was Monster Hunter Wilds, which will receive a new update on December 16th, introducing Gogmazios – a huge, powerful Elder Dragon and the first of its kind for the game.
Gogmazios doesn’t just walk around – it can also fire a devastating laser beam that destroys everything nearby. It even takes to the skies to unleash a laser attack before crashing back down, forcing hunters to find cover. These attacks are visually impressive, and come with rewards beyond just new armor. Players can craft powerful Gogma Artian Weapons, each with a unique skill bonus and a randomly assigned group skill.
The update also introduces Armor Transcendence, letting you further enhance your armor, especially those rare level 5 and 6 decoration slots. You’ll find more optional Advanced Quests to tackle, and a special in-game event called the Festival of Accord: Lumenhymn, running from December 19th, 2025, to January 14th, 2026. Plus, a challenging new monster, Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad, arrives on December 24th – just in time for the holidays!
Capcom is planning to add Arch-Tempered Arkveld to the game on February 18, 2026, with Update 1.041. Players can also look forward to new Advanced Quests and a unique collaboration featuring Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.
