I’m thrilled to share an update on the PlayStation Plus subscription service. Yesterday, we learned about a price hike for PS Plus in fifteen countries starting next week. Now, Sony has officially announced that even more nations will be joining this list. So, if you’re a subscriber or considering becoming one, keep an eye out for updates regarding your specific region!

Just like the 15 countries in Latin America, those experiencing a price increase will impact every economic tier, with the changes taking effect from the coming week.

Multiple Countries Added To PS Plus Price Hike Increase Outside Of Initial Announcement

In Southeast Asian countries like Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, among others, there will be an upward adjustment in the prices of Sony products.

  • 1 month: $20.95 AUD (previously $18.95 AUD)

  • 1 month: $23.95 AUD (previously $21.95 AUD)

Beginning April 16, the increased cost of PS Plus subscription will be implemented across all countries. However, this change won’t impact existing subscribers until their renewal period on or after June 24, 2025.

As a gamer in Latin America, I’ve learned that Sony’s decision to increase prices is in response to global market conditions they’re facing. They want to ensure they can keep delivering top-notch games and added perks to us gamers, so this adjustment allows them to do just that.

Based on the economic events occurring in over 20 different nations, I anticipate further price increases to be disclosed soon. It’s possible that this trend could impact North America as well. However, it’s worth noting that the last price increase in the U.S. took place in October 2023, so another price rise is likely within the next two years.

It seems quite possible that Sony may be increasing prices globally, with the announcements being made on a region-by-region basis.
