More Mortal Kombat Insiders Say That Future Mortal Kombat 1 DLC is Cancelled

As a seasoned gamer who has battled through countless realms and dimensions, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment upon hearing the rumors about Mortal Kombat 1’s future DLC being cancelled. I’ve been a fan since the days of arcade machines and dial-up modems, and the thought of no more Kombat Pack 3 content is a tough pill to swallow.

Based on recent confirmations from more sources inside the Mortal Kombat team, it appears that the previously announced DLC for Mortal Kombat 1 has been scrapped.

At the tail-end of November, whispers started circulating as FateUnknown, a reputable source for Mortal Kombat 1 leaks, claimed on Reddit that future downloadable content (DLC) for the game was no longer happening because of disappointing expansions sales.

Following this, two additional sources close to Mortal Kombat have since backed up the claim. One of these sources is @thethiny (previously known as Twitter user), who stated, “The final source contacted me and mentioned that they too heard there’s nothing more after Terminator, with a chance they might complete what was initially planned since last year. Their KP3 list was different as well. At this point, I have completely lost hope.

KP3 refers to Kombat Pack 3, the next DLC to be released for the game.

Once again, Ed Boon remains silent about the rumors, yet TopMob reached out to NetherRealm Studios for their take on the speculations.

Previously mentioned by FateUnknown, we’re yet to see the addition of characters like Conan the Barbarian and T-1000 from Terminator 2 to our lineup.
