In Mortal Kombat 1, the much-anticipated arrival of the lethal T-1000 has been confirmed! Previously, this mechanical menace was showcased to filmgoers in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), where it was dispatched to eliminate John Conner as a teenager. Equipped with a liquid metal physique capable of assuming any form, the T-1000 swiftly established itself as an iconic sci-fi antagonist and proved even more intimidating than the initial T-800 Terminator, who made a guest appearance in Mortal Kombat 11.
In the style of the Terminator films, the T-1000 character, portrayed by Robert Patrick, will make its way into the Mortal Kombat universe, as part of Mortal Kombat 1’s Kombat Pack 2. This means Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic cyborg assassin from Terminator will now face off in Mortal Kombat. Previous gameplay trailers for MK 1 have given fans a sneak peek into how the T-1000’s unique shape-shifting abilities will be incorporated into the game, along with a look at a Fatality that echoes one of Terminator 2’s most iconic scenes.
The long-awaited day of reckoning, or Judgment Day, is approaching in Mortal Kombat 1 on March 25. On this date, the T-1000 Terminator will join the game’s cast of characters. Players with early access will get a head start, as they can start playing as the T-1000 from March 18. These dates were unveiled in the most recent Mortal Kombat 1 trailer, which showed the T-1000 clashing with characters like Liu Kang, Shao Khan, and Johnny Cage. During these battles, the T-1000 showcased its ability to transform by creating knives and hammers, and even firing rounds from a police pistol, as part of its disguise from Terminator 2.
Mortal Kombat 1 T-1000 Release Dates
- March 18, 2025 (Early Access)
- March 25, 2025 (Full Access)
In this game, Mortal Kombat 1, the T-1000 character doesn’t just display one homage to the movie, but several. For instance, its victory animation mirrors the scene in Terminator 2 where it assumes the form of its defeated foe, a technique it frequently used. Similarly, one of its Fatalities involves stabbing an opponent with a liquid metal finger and then impaling them with a bladed arm, tearing their body apart. The trailer concludes with a brief glimpse of the T-1000’s Animality in Mortal Kombat 1, where it transforms into a German Shepard to viciously attack its unfortunate victim.
In its recent preview, Mortal Kombat 1 is introducing Madame Bo alongside the T-1000. Set to join the game on March 18 as a Kameo Fighter, Madame Bo lends a hand during the T-1000’s attacks, playfully hitting opponents with her shoe and attempting to clear away the ensuing mess after the T-1000’s X-Ray move and Fatality. Both characters will be accessible in Mortal Kombat 1 by the end of this month.
