Most Popular Demos From Steam Next Fest (February 2025)

The Steam Next Festival is currently underway, lasting from now until March 3rd. This event highlights upcoming video games, offering numerous playable demos for enthusiasts to enjoy. For many promising titles, distributing a demo to potential players during the festival can be essential, and some are finding more success than others.

Here are the demos that are attracting the most players during Steam Next Fest for February 2025.

Most Played Demos at Steam Next Fest (February 2025)

Player numbers are all current as of February 27th.

Mecha BREAK

At its highest point, the Mecha BREAK demo boasts an impressive 317,522 players, surpassing other demos showcased during this year’s Next Fest. This third-person multiplayer mecha shooter has garnered significant attention from a global audience, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics. Players appreciate the variety of game modes and customization options, but the demo receives a predominantly negative rating on Steam due to concerns about the game’s monetization and server problems. TopMob was fortunate enough to visit the North American offices of developer Amazing Seasun Games for an exclusive interview with the creator of Mecha BREAK about the game’s development process.

Fellowship

As a gamer, I’ve dived headfirst into this thrilling community known as Fellowship, where the peak player count soared to an impressive 16,721! This game is designed for players craving immediate access to high-level dungeon content, similar to what you’d experience in World of Warcraft. The gameplay offers “infinite scaling dungeon runs,” making it a perfect fit for end-game WoW enthusiasts who will find the user interface and group finder system familiar.

In this game, forming a group is crucial as we work together to take down hordes of enemies, which in turn unlocks the challenging boss fight with its unique mechanics. This isn’t just a battle; it’s an intricate puzzle that requires teamwork and strategic thinking to conquer!

Among Us 3D

In simpler terms, Among Us 3D, which reached a maximum of 6,729 players, is essentially an enhanced version of Among Us that you’re familiar with if you’ve played it before. Unlike Among Us VR, this version doesn’t require a virtual reality headset as it uses a first-person perspective instead. The standout feature here is the built-in proximity chat, eliminating the need for additional programs to activate this function. Additionally, expect some new and returning mini-game tasks. When launched, it will come with maps from Among Us VR, specifically Skeld II and Polus Point.

RoadCraft

As a devotee, I’d like to share some insights about RoadCraft, a game that once boasted an impressive player base of 12,559 souls. This remarkable creation is the brainchild of Saber Interactive, the same masterminds behind Snowunner and Mudrunner. Unlike its off-road brethren, RoadCraft presents a unique challenge: rebuilding and restoring areas devastated by nature’s fury. In RoadCraft, I found myself with the opportunity to unlock an impressive array of over 40 vehicles, each one designed to aid in the reconstruction of roads, bridges, and other vital infrastructure.

Although these demonstrations receive the most attention, there’s a wealth of playable demos to explore during this year’s festival. In fact, there are more than just a handful – probably even hundreds! Don’t worry if you can’t experience them all now, as another Next Fest is scheduled for October.
