In a short while, the Game Developers Conference (GDC) is happening in San Francisco, and guess who’ll be there? That’s right, TopMob! It’s a platform where developers, publishers, and even tech manufacturers display their works-in-progress, as well as unveil the cutting-edge technology in gaming.
One subject that has arisen lately revolves around EA Motive’s Iron Man video game, which has been largely hidden since it was unveiled over two years back. In a recent post about their schedule, they announced that Motive will be sharing details related to Iron Man at the Game Developers Conference (GDC).
Becoming Stark
Little information has been revealed about the Iron Man game being developed by Motive Studio, yet fans eagerly anticipate a well-executed experience. They hope for a game with an open-world setting and extensive suit customization options, enabling players to fully embrace the character of Tony Stark.
By September 2022, it came to light that Motive Studios is developing a new project, concurrently assisting in the progress of the upcoming Battlefield game. Notably, Motive has previously lent its hand to the Dead Space Remake, Star Wars Squadrons, and Battlefront II projects.
Regarding Iron Man’s game, what we currently understand is that it’s a standalone adventure with a third-person perspective, focusing on action. After the game was unveiled, we shared updates about secret playtests. Since then, development has been actively progressing, which means the game must have improved significantly since then.
Just the other day, I stumbled upon some intriguing insights while scrolling through Reddit. It turns out that a behind-the-scenes event at GDC, happening on March 17th, has been unveiled. This session is being spearheaded by an expert from Electronic Arts, and it seems they’ll be diving deep into the creation of texture sets for Dead Space and Iron Man, both under the care of Motive Studios.
It’s expected that Motive might unveil a sneak peek of something related to Iron Man during this segment, marking our initial glimpse at the game since its announcement in 2022. Even if the demo mainly offers a view of Iron Man’s suit, fans are likely to be pleased.
Since specific qualifications are required to attend Electronic Arts’ tech summit at GDC, it seems unlikely that anything will become public around this period, but surprises can happen. However, there’s a good chance we might witness some demo or trailer unveiled during the Epic Unreal showcase at GDC, considering Iron Man is being created in UE5.
What hopes do you have for Motive’s Iron Man? Let me know in the comments or on the TopMob forum.
