As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must admit, I’m thrilled about the upcoming addition of Beetlejuice to the Multiversus roster! The trailer was a delightful sneak peek into the spooky antics that this iconic character will bring to the game.

Player First Games unveiled a fresh trailer for their latest Multiversus fighter, Beetlejuice, and announced that players can start playing him from next week. After its unexpected closure the previous year, Multiversus made a comeback in May 2024, boasting new features and improvements based on lessons from its extensive beta phase. The Player First Games team introduced a PvE mode called Rifts, along with adjustments to fighters, engine enhancements, and several other updates. Following the game’s resurgence, it has undergone significant changes and upgrades since then.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but rave about Multiversus, a platform fighter that truly delivers. What sets it apart for many of us is the abundance of content, which taps into an extensive library of franchises and IPs from Warner Bros. The initial lineup already boasts some familiar faces, but what really gets me excited are the unexpected additions like Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th horror series and Agent Smith from The Matrix films.

Thankfully, Player First Games has addressed that knowledge gap with a brand-new trailer. The new gameplay shows off Beetlejuice in-game, with Mutliversus classifying the ghost character as an assassin type. Alongside his iconic catchphrases, Beetlejuice brings a bunch of moves and abilities seemingly pulled right from Tim Burton’s classic film, including the character being able to seemingly transform his limbs, fall forward into a coffin as his dash attack, as well as bug out his eyes and make horrifying worms and creatures sprout from his face.

Beetlejuice Launch Date for Multiversus

  • August 20

The trailer for Multiversus not only demonstrates gameplay of the Beetlejuice character, but also previews some fresh cosmetic items that will be available in the game. These new items resemble previous in-game events, like Shark Week and Matrix skins, which were added before Agent Smith’s release. One clip in the trailer features all Multiversus characters donning Beetlejuice-inspired black and white suits with vibrant purple and green accents. Interestingly, Beetlejuice has several alternate costumes for players to acquire, such as a flamboyant purple neon suit and a matador outfit, which may be from the 20XXL collection.

In addition to regularly introducing fresh content, Player First Games is diligently working on maintaining the free-to-play game, Multiversus. Not long ago, they rolled out update 1.2.1, which primarily focused on resolving bugs and other problems, as well as fine-tuning the recently implemented Rank Mode. As always, the character roster is being tweaked to boost underperforming characters and balance overpowered ones.
