MultiVersus Makes Changes To How Players Unlock Fighters

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of game updates and monetization strategies. The new “Fighter Road” in MultiVersus seems like a breath of fresh air for players who value progression and unlocking characters through gameplay rather than just spending cash.

MultiVersus is making major changes to how players can unlock fighters in the game.

Player First Games, a developer, has unveiled a fresh update dubbed “Fighter Road”. From November 12th onwards, players will experience a simpler method to acquire fighters compared to previous versions, as this new approach streamlines the process.

Essentially, Fighter Road offers a straightforward method for gamers to accumulate characters, following a clear path that suits individual paces. The developers explained this as an ideal approach for MultiVersus players to access and experiment with the game’s wide variety of unique characters.

How MultiVersus Fighter Road Works

On Fighter Road, players gradually accumulate advancements to unveil a single fighter at a time. They acquire these developments by gaining Fighter Road Experience Points (XP) in battles, special events, or through the Battle Pass.

As a gamer, I’ve got to say, if you’re not keen on grinding to acquire a particular fighter in MultiVersus, you’ve always got the option to purchase them straight up using Fighter currency or Gleamium. But here’s something important to note: starting from Season 4 on November 12, Fighter currency will no longer be in circulation. So, the Fighter coins you’ve got are what you’ll have to spend, since there won’t be any more coming in after that date.

According to Player First Games, the progress toward unlocking fighters will be categorized by dividing characters into groups or levels, taking various elements into account.

In simpler terms, “The initial group includes Shaggy, Banana Guard, Wonder Woman, and Batman,” was stated. “Also, characters are obtained sequentially on the Fighter Road, but certain levels give players the flexibility to pick which character they’d like to work towards unlocking next.

Players who already possess certain characters won’t appear on the journey, but don’t worry, if you wish to unlock new characters within a tier using your existing character tokens, you absolutely can. As you advance along the Fighter Road, your progress will be shown on a screen that appears after each match, indicating where you stand on the reward track.

If you finish the Fighter Road and acquire all the fighters, any extra Fighter Road experience points you gain afterward will automatically transform into Battle Pass experience points at a conversion rate of 40%.
