In early 2025, Mondo will release a smaller replica (1/6 scale) of Lion-O, followed by an announcement for another ThunderCats collectible – this time a Mumm-Ra figurine. As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about Mondo’s latest figure inspired by an iconic animated villain! This figure will be available in two versions: the standard model and what they’re calling the Timed Edition. The Timed Edition promises some exclusive extras that any collector would love to get their hands on, like a flaming sword and not one, but two bonus portraits. One of these bonus portraits is even for Mumm-Ra’s loyal dog Ma-Mutt! I can’t wait to see these figures hit the shelves!
Starting this coming Tuesday, May 20th at 10am Pacific Time (12pm Central Time / 1pm Eastern Time), you’ll be able to pre-order the Time-Limited version of the figure on Mondo’s online store. This special edition will sell for $280, reflecting its high-end collectible status meant for die-hard fans. The price for the standard edition is yet to be determined but may align with Mondo’s basic Lion-O 1/6 figure’s $225 Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Mondo will only accept orders for the premium Time-Limited version for a month, until June 20th.
Enthusiasts of ThunderCats could potentially secure the upcoming Mumm-Ra collectible as early as December 2025, which is when Mondo anticipates distribution to start. As one of just two 1/6 scale ThunderCats figures from the company thus far, the arrival of Mumm-Ra may indicate a growing collection in the future. The upcoming collectible was conceptualized by Emiliano Santalucia, sculpted by May Thamtarana, and painted by Mark Bristow, all under the supervision of Hector Arce. Florian Bertmer managed the artwork for the packaging, with Jordan Christianson responsible for the design, while Tim Hanson contributed to the cut-and-sew work.
