MW3 devs promise COR-45 buff after nerfing it to the ground

As a dedicated Modern Warfare III player with hundreds of hours under my belt, I can’t help but feel disheartened by the recent COR-45 Pistol nerf in Season 5. This trusty sidearm has always been a go-to for many players looking to save a Perk slot and add versatility to their loadouts. Its quick fire rate and attachments like the XRK v6 Match and XRK v21 Heavy Match Trigger Actions made it a formidable weapon in close quarters combat.

In the MW3 Season 5 update, the power of the COR-45 Pistol was significantly decreased, rendering it nearly useless in multiplayer matches. Following strong criticism from players, the developers have acknowledged their intention to enhance the pistol’s capabilities.

In Modern Warfare 3, unlike in Warzone where you can carry two primary weapons at once, players usually opt to save a Perk slot by using a secondary weapon instead. For getting around quickly, melee weapons such as the Karambit are commonly preferred. However, when it comes to choosing a secondary weapon, the classic COR-45 Pistol is a popular choice among players.

In Season 5, the developers significantly reduced the weapon’s firing speed and eliminated two popular attachments that made it effective in the meta.

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of weapon adjustments in various games. This latest update, however, has caught my attention due to its impact on two of my go-to weapons: the XRK v6 Match and XRK v21 Heavy Match Trigger Actions.

The community wasn’t pleased with these modifications as they perceived that the COR-45 had been significantly weakened and rendered almost useless. Fortunately, one of the developers from Sledgehammer Games announced on Reddit that they would be enhancing it with more power at a future time.

The development team has taken note of your feedback. We’re making some adjustments to increase the fire rate of the COR-45 weapon and plan to roll out this update shortly.

The specifics regarding the timing and extent of the modifications were not disclosed. However, players were reassured that the problem would be tackled, despite some continuing to express disappointment over the initial adjustment.

“One person expressed relief, commenting that the recent changes to the weapon had rendered it virtually ineffective. Another questioned why, with four successive adjustments resulting in slower firing speed than a revolver, the developers still didn’t acknowledge this as a problem?”

The COR-45’s firing speed enhancement isn’t scheduled with a specific timeline, but it is expected to be implemented prior to the Season 5 Reloaded update on August 21, marking the arrival of the new Spear and Torque 35 weapons as well.
