As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the recent Season 5 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone has truly rekindled my passion for this iconic franchise. The variety of new game modes and limited-time events is nothing short of breathtaking, offering a fresh twist on old favorites while introducing entirely original concepts.
The latest update for “Call of Duty” brings a host of gameplay options to both “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” and “Warzone”. This update also introduces two new features, the Spear and the Torque 35. In addition to these additions, Season 5’s mid-season update offers various modes and temporary events for players to enjoy.
In each installment of Call of Duty, certain game modes are classic staples that return annually, while others serve as new additions intended to enhance the existing multiplayer and battle royale experiences. Here’s a look at all the new game modes and time-limited events being introduced in the Season 5 Reloaded update.
All MW3 Season 5 Reloaded Game Modes
- Up first is Cyber Attack, a game mode that made its debut in 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Players load into the map with the aim of securing control of an EMP device located in the center of the battlefield. Once secure, teams battle it out to plant the device at the enemy data center. The first team to win five rounds is declared the winner.
- Fishfection is a fresh take on the popular Infected game mode. Instead of the usual rules, teams of cats and fish face off against each other using the Spear and Torque 35. The fish must attempt to eliminate the feline opposition to win the match. Infect all of the cats and switch them to fish before the time limit to secure victory.
- Previous Call of Duty titles have featured an ability for players to change the game’s appearance to feature paintballs, but in Season 5 Reloaded, Sledgehammer Games has taken things up a level with the arrival of a dedicated paintball game mode. Players compete in Hardpoint and Domination matches across a range of maps. Weapon performance has also improved with one paintball required to hit the target to secure an elimination.
- The last Modern Warfare 3 game mode arriving in Season 5 Reloaded is Defuse or Destroy, a unique take on the iconic Search and Destroy. Each round of Defuse or Destroy begins with the bomb already planted at one of two locations. Players must defend the objective until the timer ticks to zero while the other attempts to defuse it before the clock runs out.
All Warzone Season 5 Reloaded Game Modes
In the mid-season refresh, we’re excited to introduce a fresh game mode called “Supreme Resurgence”. Instead of focusing on common ground loot that might be missed, we’ve revamped the loot system to prioritize weapons influenced by the dynamic and evolving meta in Warzone.
When players initially touch down, they find a wider array of powerful equipment available, which in turn leads to an elevated cost for Loadout Drops. Simultaneously, the Resurgence timer extends, taking more time to reach its end. However, players can hasten the countdown by accomplishing tasks like opening supply boxes or achieving kills.
Winning the game grants you exclusive perks. The players who survive until the end will unlock the “Spilled Beans” weapon skin, which can be applied to any firearm or melee weapon they possess.
What Is The Warzone Recon Flyover Public Event?
In the fifth season’s updated version, Warzone introduces a fresh feature called The Recon Flyover Public Event. Occasionally, during matches, you’ll notice two high-tech surveillance drones soaring overhead. Players detected by these drones will be marked on the mini-map with a red arrow.
Players can avoid detection from drones (UAVs) by keeping their distance, a tactic that proves helpful when aiming for the “Ghost” victory title.
All MW3 & Warzone Season 5 Reloaded Events
In the late phases of both the Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone cycles, there’s been no slowdown in the influx of short-term events. The second half of Season 5 is brimming with two limited-time events offering numerous rewards for participants to claim.
- Beginning on August 21 and running until August 28 is the Wldlife Most Wanted Event. Players can earn ten rewards and an XP boost if they’re using Operator skins from specific store bundles.
- From September 12 to September 18 is the Emotional Overdrive event. Similar to the Wildlife Most Wanted event, there are ten rewards up for grabs. There’s also an XP boost for players using skins from the Tracer Pack: Emoting Ultra Skin bundle.
Players of both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Warzone have a plethora of new game modes and events to dive into, as we’re nearing the end of just two more seasonal updates after Season 5 Reloaded. Soon, attention will shift towards Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
