My Hero Academia: 5 Heroes Horikoshi Confirmed Are Stronger Than All Might At The End of the Story

Even among the many strong heroes and villains in the series, All Might is remembered as the most powerful. In his prime, he was an incredibly formidable opponent, surpassing even All For One before the story of My Hero Academia began. However, as the series progressed, All Might’s role as a fighter diminished.

By the manga’s conclusion, the original characters fans had come to know were succeeded by a new group of heroes. Though not as powerful as All Might at his peak, this new generation is fully equipped to continue his work and uphold his values.

Lemillion – The No.1 Ranked Pro Hero

Nighteye’s Intended Heir Comes Out on Top

It’s clear why Sir Nighteye believed Lemillion was a strong candidate to take over from All Might. Lemillion’s positive attitude and determined fighting style were very similar to All Might’s public image, and his impressive quirk would have been a valuable asset to the One For All power. However, since Deku was chosen instead, Lemillion had to find his own way forward.

Lemillion lost his quirk while rescuing Eri during the fight with the Shie Hassaikai, but he eventually regained it during the Paranormal Liberation War. Between the end of that battle and the story’s epilogue, he proved himself worthy of his mentor’s faith and climbed to the top of the Hero Billboard Chart JP, taking the No. 1 position previously held by All Might for many years.

Mt. Lady – The No.3 Ranked Pro Hero

A Larger-Than-Life Personality to Go With Her Quirk

Mt. Lady is one of the earliest heroes we meet in the series, and she’s definitely memorable. While her ability to grow to a giant size gets people’s attention, it’s her personality that truly sets her apart. Unlike many heroes who are known for being selfless, Mt. Lady is motivated more by her own desires. She’s very confident, doesn’t always feel like working hard, and loves the popularity that comes with being a pro hero.

While wanting fame isn’t typical for a hero, Mt. Lady’s ambition actually leads to success. By the end of the story, she’s still ranked as one of the top heroes in Japan, improving from her previous position of 23rd to a solid 3rd place on the Hero Billboard Chart. Even though her reasons for becoming a hero aren’t ideal, she ultimately proves to be very effective.

Shoto – The No.2 Ranked Pro Hero

Endeavor’s Legacy Lives On In His Son

From the beginning of the manga, it was clear Shoto had the potential to become a great hero. Though he had a difficult upbringing, he worked through his problems while attending U.A. High School and emerged from the final battle as one of the most promising young heroes.

Following the climactic battle, Shoto inherits his father’s hero agency and begins to establish his own identity. His hard work pays off, and he rises to become the second-ranked hero in Japan – a position his father, Endeavor, held for a long time.

Deku – The No.4 Ranked Pro Hero

All Might’s Legacy Lives On

The ending of the My Hero Academia manga sparked a lot of discussion among fans. While some appreciated how Deku’s story concluded, others felt he didn’t fully realize his potential. In the final battle with Shigaraki, Deku lost his quirk, but he ultimately became a teacher, dedicating himself to training the next generation of heroes – a role that suits his personality and growth throughout the series.

With help from his old classmates and a suit from All Might – a similar one All Might used in his final battle – Deku gets a second chance to fulfill his dream of becoming a pro hero. He succeeds, eventually ranking as the No. 4 hero. Having mastered many quirks through One For All, Deku expertly uses his new suit and is able to compete with other heroes.

Bakugo – The No.5 Ranked Pro Hero

A Once One-Dimensional Character Comes a Long Way

It’s no surprise that the three smartest students in Class 1-A ended up becoming the most popular heroes. However, what fans appreciate most about Bakugo isn’t his high ranking – he makes it into the top 5 by the end – but how much he grows and changes as a person throughout the story.

Bakugo still has a fiery temper, but he matured throughout the series, becoming much more thoughtful and responsible. His close friendships at U.A. High clearly had a positive impact, and he went on to become one of the school’s most accomplished students. By ultimately defeating All For One, Bakugo established himself as a top-tier hero, and that success has continued into his career as a professional.
