Summary
- Kirishima’s hardening Quirk makes him an indestructible powerhouse with powerful punches.
- Re-Destro reveals his combat skills by transforming into a giant with immense strength.
- Mirio’s permeation Quirk and strength make him more powerful than all Pro-Heroes.
In my experience as a die-hard fan of “My Hero Academia“, I must say that appearances can often be misleading. This fantastic series, with its lively and captivating visuals, hides some of the strongest characters within seemingly unassuming appearances. The term “strength” in this world has a dual meaning. On one hand, it represents the raw power and determination of each hero or villain. But on the other, it refers to their unique abilities, known as Quirks, with some being significantly more potent than others.
It’s delightful when a character unexpectedly demonstrates their full abilities, making one think they were less powerful initially. Interestingly, in the widely acclaimed series “My Hero Academia“, many characters have shown this pattern, particularly those on the hero and villain sides as mentioned below.
7. Eijiro Kirishima
The Plucky Class 1-A Student’s Quirk Turns Him Into A Hard-Hitting Powerhouse Once He Masters It
- First Appearance: Episode 5
Throughout the series, most students from Class 1-A have ample opportunities to display their skills and unique abilities. However, Kirishima stands out as a student who significantly strengthens over time. At the U.S Sports Festival, he demonstrated his capability, but struggled somewhat with controlling his Hardening Quirk. Yet, by the mission against Overhaul, he had mastered his Quirk to make his entire body virtually indestructible.
Simultaneously, Kirishima’s special ability significantly increased the force behind his punches, making each one seem like a passing freight train. This was a lesson Rappa learned personally. Although all students from Class 1-A have progressed significantly, Kirishima, to the astonishment of many, demonstrated an unprecedented level of power, despite having limited screen time.
6. Re-Destro
The Head Of The Meta Liberation Army Isn’t Afraid To Get His Hands Dirty
- First Appearance: Episode 108
At roughly the midpoint of the narrative, when Re-Destro makes his entrance, he appears to be merely a dapper businessman who delegates his dirty tasks to his devoted followers. Adding to this impression is his Stress Quirk, which initially seemed more like a burden than an advantage. It wasn’t until Shigaraki arrived that it became apparent Re-Destro might not just be a man unfamiliar with combat, but rather someone who concealed his fighting abilities effectively.
To counter the powerful antagonist, Re-Destro undergoes a transformation using his unique ability, swelling to an enormous size and turning into a fearsome creature. This form showcases incredible toughness and immense power. Although Re-Destro rarely assumed this shape during the series, it left many astonished when they realized he could inflict massive damage when provoked beyond reason.
5. Twice
Twice Is Able To Take On An Entire Army With His Infinite Clones
- First Appearance: Episode 43
In a more casual and engaging style,
Initially, Twice is portrayed as the jokester in the League of Villains, but his powerful ability to duplicate anything he touches gives him that comic relief feel. However, during the My Villain Academia arc, Twice starts to confront his past traumas and truly unleashes his potential with his Quirk, which allows him to fight against vast numbers of Meta Liberation Army followers.
Twice possesses the ability to duplicate himself multiple times, causing chaos and proving more troublesome for heroes than initially anticipated. His strength, fueled by the infinite potential of his Quirk, only truly shone once he mastered its use.
4. Mirio Togata
Mirio May Look Like A Goofy All-Might Cosplay, But He’s Not Someone To Be Messed With
- First Appearance: Episode 62
At first glance, one could easily assume that Mirio is merely an ardent All Might fan due to their physical similarity, and this was a common assumption among fans when he first appeared during the Overhaul arc. However, it came as quite a shock when it was disclosed that Mirio possesses strength equal to or even surpassing many professional heroes, owing to his unique Quirk.
From my vantage point, I’ve observed Mirio harness an extraordinary ability that renders him as if he’s not there, enabling him to traverse solid structures and even plummet through floors. After tireless training, this skill of his has been honed to a razor-sharp edge, boosting his agility in battlefield situations. When combined with his colossal strength, he emerges as one of the mightiest entities within the realm of My Hero Academia, despite his initial comical demeanor.
3. Himiko Toga
Toga Unleashes The True Potential of Her Quirk Once Her Obsession Starts Taking Her Over
- First Appearance: Episode 31
In the world of “My Hero Academia”, Toga, who is initially introduced as a member of the League of Villains, presents herself as a menacing figure due to her criminal past. Initially, her ability to transform into others makes her appear more like a spy or infiltrator. However, as her desire for friendship intensifies, we witness the full extent of her Quirk’s capabilities.
In their battle with Curious, Toga briefly transforms herself into Ochaco. Subsequently, she employs Ochaco’s Quirk to lift her adversary aloft. Finally, Toga causes her opponent to plummet to what appears to be a fatal end. This display of power left spectators convinced that Toga had become a formidable foe for the heroes to confront.
2. Mirko
Defeating An Entire Hallway Full Of Nemus Is No Small Feat
- First Appearance: Episode 82
Despite every Pro-Hero achieving their status through strength and dependability, it’s primarily All Might and Endeavor who receive the most attention, given they hold the top ranks within the group. Consequently, Mirko was often overlooked for a significant period. However, when she swiftly dispatched multiple Nemus at once, fans quickly understood why she is so highly respected by her fellow heroes.
Ever since their inception, the Nemus have posed a challenge for the Pro-Heroes. Even though the Nemus that Mirko faced were still prototypes, it’s no walk in the park to eliminate so many of them with her incredible speed and immense power. People knew Mirko would be strong, but they didn’t foresee her turning into the formidable force she eventually became.
1. Eri
An Innocent Young Girl Who Possesses One Of The Most Powerful Quirks In All Of My Hero Academia
- First Appearance: Episode 66
In the universe of “My Hero,” power doesn’t always equate to physical strength. For instance, Eri, who appears to be just a young girl, might not seem formidable at first glance, but she poses a significant threat due to her unique ability called Rewind. At a quick glance, she may appear harmless, but don’t let that fool you.
In the intense clash between Deku and Overhaul, Eri showcases her Quirk’s immense power by momentarily reversing Deku’s state before it self-destructs. The size of the horn on Eri’s head determines the strength of her Quirk at any given moment, so despite appearing as an ordinary and gentle young girl, she actually wields one of the strongest Quirks in the entire series.
