This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia.
My Hero Academia has become a hugely popular anime series with fans worldwide. The original manga finished last year, and the anime will conclude in 2025 with a final season adapting the remaining story. After Season 8 of My Hero Academia ends, fans may be disappointed with limited new content. Fortunately, a second season of the Vigilantes anime is also planned, along with other projects still in development.
Many fans are aware that Netflix is developing a live-action movie based on My Hero Academia. While the movie is still in the early stages of scriptwriting and won’t be released for a while, some fans are optimistic despite a general hesitancy towards live-action adaptations.
My Hero Academia Season 8 Will Mark The End Of The Story
- The Anime Will End, But A Live-Action Movie Is In The Works
- Netflix is Currently Writing the Script for the Movie
The latest season of My Hero Academia (Season 8) has just begun, and fans are loving the amazing animation and artwork from Studio Bones. However, Season 8 is quite short and is already halfway over. This has fans concerned about the future of the series, as there aren’t many announced plans beyond the Vigilantes spin-off.
Netflix recently offered a promising update on the live-action My Hero Academia movie, a project that was announced seven years ago. Development has finally resumed, and a script is now being written.
Jason Fuchs said they are still writing the script and haven’t started thinking about who will star in it yet.
This is fantastic news for fans and could pave the way for a live-action My Hero Academia series, much like the current One Piece adaptation.
When Will the My Hero Academia Live-Action Movie Come Out?
- No Release Date Has Been Given Yet
- Production Is Still In Very Early Stages
Whether you’re excited or worried, a live-action version of My Hero Academia might be the biggest thing fans have to look forward to for a while. Live-action anime adaptations often don’t go well, but Netflix’s recent One Piece series proved they can be good – it wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely enjoyable.
Jason Fuchs says Kōhei provides feedback on absolutely everything – every treatment, outline, and scene. This detailed involvement makes Fuchs confident they’ll create something fans will love. Their goal is to be true to the source material, respecting what came before while also making it accessible to new viewers who aren’t familiar with the manga or previous films.
The new My Hero Academia movie was announced seven years ago, and fans are eager to see it released. However, it’s still in the very beginning stages of production – the script is currently being written, and they haven’t started casting actors yet, so it will likely be some time before it’s finished.
The project will likely take at least two years to complete, and could take even longer if production faces any problems. Fans shouldn’t anticipate seeing results before 2027, at the earliest.
The My Hero Academia manga has finished its run, totaling 431 chapters which are all available to read on Manga Plus. While the manga is complete, the anime is still ongoing and its final season is expected to premiere later this year on Crunchyroll.
