Exciting news for fans of the series included the announcement of a special episode called “More,” and the return of creator Kohei Horikoshi. Horikoshi shared a new illustration featuring an updated look at the now-adult hero, Izuku Midoriya (Deku). The artwork shows Deku alongside other popular characters like Bakugo, Shoto, Ochaco, and All Might.

The manga series My Hero Academia concluded in late 2024. Since then, its author, Horikoshi, has been less visible, though he occasionally shares updates, like plans for a 2025 fan book. Now, Horikoshi is revisiting the world of My Hero Academia in preparation for Jump Festa 2026.
Kohei Horikoshi recently shared a new illustration featuring an adult Deku, offering fans a glimpse into his future. The image shows a joyful Deku surrounded by his friends and mentor, suggesting that after becoming a Pro Hero and the series’ conclusion, Izuku Midoriya is happily living a fulfilling life with those closest to him.
Horikoshi Showcases Bakugo, Shoto, Ochaco, and All Might As Well
At Jump Festa 2026, Horikoshi didn’t just draw Izuku Midoriya. Other fan favorites were featured too, including Bakugo – the most popular character in My Hero Academia and Deku’s main rival – and Shoto Todoroki, who is currently the second-highest-ranked hero in Japan.
All Might also appears in the artwork, though he’s depicted looking significantly older. And we see Ochaco Uraraka, one of Deku’s best friends and a potential love interest. These five characters are easily the most famous faces from My Hero Academia.

I was at Jump Festa this year, and it was My Hero Academia that really got things started – they were the ones to kick off the biggest shonen manga and anime event of the year. And honestly, MHA didn’t let anyone down; their announcements were great!
