Bakugo initially appeared as a simple character in My Hero Academia, but he developed significantly throughout the series. This growth resonated with fans, and he’s now become one of the show’s most beloved characters.
Bakugo has experienced both triumphs and setbacks throughout My Hero Academia. Though he didn’t make the best first impression, he’s gone on to deliver some of the series’ most unforgettable moments – feats that will always be remembered as his greatest achievements.
Winning the Sports Festival
The U.A. Sports Festival arc effectively highlighted the abilities of the core characters, including Deku, Uraraka, Shoto, and Bakugo. Bakugo, in particular, really shined and arguably benefited the most from the events of the arc.
He frequently demonstrated innovative applications of his quirk, highlighting his impressive control over it. He ultimately won the competition by defeating Shotoi after identifying his opponent’s weakness. Though not fully satisfied, this victory was an early indication of Bakugo’s remarkable talent.
Coming up Big Against Class 1-B
The Joint Training Arc really highlighted the abilities of both Class 1-A and 1-B. While Bakugo continued to demonstrate his power, this arc especially showed off his potential as a leader and how well he works with others.
Bakugo surprised everyone with a clever plan that set up himself and his teammates – Jiro, Sero, and Sato – for success against Class 1-B. This demonstrated not only his powerful abilities, but also how much he’d developed as a character throughout the story.
Taking on Villains During The U.S.J. Incident
The villains attack the Unforeseen Simulation Joint fairly early in the story, catching many students in Class 1-A unprepared for a genuinely dangerous situation. Despite their lack of experience, several students rose to the challenge, notably Bakugo, who immediately rushed into the thick of the fight.
Bakugo and Eijiro were caught off guard by a group of villains, even though they weren’t strong enough to defeat Kurogiri and were still relatively inexperienced. However, the two quickly handled the situation, and Bakugo surprisingly dominated the older, more seasoned villains.
Leading the Charge to Bring Deku Back
This scene really highlights Bakugo’s growth throughout the series. During the Dark Hero Arc, as the rest of Class 1-A works to rescue Deku and bring him back to U.A., Bakugo confidently takes the lead.
Working together, the group managed to exhaust Deku and finally reach him. During the battle, Bakugo demonstrated his increased strength and tactical thinking. The experience confirmed Bakugo’s position as one of Class 1-A’s strongest fighters and highlighted how much he’s improved.
Using One For All
I always thought it was a really cool moment in Heroes Rising when Bakugo actually got to use One For All! Deku briefly shared his quirk with Bakugo during that intense fight with Nine, and it gave him a huge power-up. It wasn’t something we saw in the main series, but it was awesome to see what Bakugo could do with that kind of strength!
Their combined attack was incredibly powerful. While it didn’t last long, Bakugo was performing at his peak, and it was amazing to watch him and Deku effectively use One For All together.
Protecting Deku From Shigaraki
The fight with Shigaraki at the hospital raid was incredibly difficult for many heroes, including Deku and Bakugo. Both of them fought well, but Bakugo really stood out when he rescued Deku from a dangerous attack by Shigaraki.
Bakugo suffered a serious injury, getting impaled, but his incredible resilience allowed him to survive. He not only recovered completely but also demonstrated his heroic character through his selfless actions, proving how far he’s come as a hero.
Taking Down All For One
Most fans thought Deku would defeat the main villain in My Hero Academia, but it was actually Bakugo who ultimately triumphed over All For One, saving everyone from his evil. Although Deku and Shigaraki were connected, Bakugo was the one who finally ended the threat.
Bakugo had barely recovered from a near-fatal battle, yet he managed to accomplish something no hero, not even All Might, had ever done before. It was a conclusive defeat for All For One and a truly deserved win for Bakugo.
