My Hero Academia: Izuku Midoriya’s New Power Has Officially Been Revealed By Kohei Horikoshi

Last year saw the conclusion of the thrilling Manga series “My Hero Academia”, wrapping up the Final War arc storyline. Fans are still buzzing about the incredible climax that the author masterfully crafted in the final installment. The anime adaptation is set to conclude this year as well, signaling the end of an era for “My Hero Academia”.

After the main storyline has concluded, it’s clear that “My Hero Academia” still has room for further development. The author, Horikoshi, has been providing fans with additional content occasionally. Lately, Horikoshi even disclosed details about Deku’s newly acquired powers following the Final War of the series.

Izuku Received A Hero Armor After Losing The One For All

In the finale of My Hero Academia, the conclusion proved divisive for numerous reasons, one significant point of contention being Izuku Midoriya’s loss of his unique ability, One For All. Izuku had been the sole recipient of this extraordinary power at the story’s onset, having demonstrated exceptional merit in winning over the legendary All Might. Regrettably, Izuku struggled to retain possession of it for an extended period.

Over the course of approximately a year, Izuku mastered One For All’s abilities to some degree, harnessing around half its power while also inheriting the traits of the vestiges. However, in the heat of battle during the war, Izuku was compelled to relinquish this power as the only viable solution for saving Japan and thus, the world.

In an act of selflessness, Izuku surrendered One For All’s power to defeat Shigaraki, leaving him without any special abilities.

Goodbye, One For All! — Izuku Midoriya, Final War

In time, as fans watched Izuku Midoriya’s former classmates rise to become Pro Heroes, Izuku continued to teach at U.A. However, his situation changed drastically when he was presented with a Hero Armor, reminiscent of All Might’s, towards the end. This development enabled Izuku Midoriya to resume his role as a Hero, which was crucial in helping him further his aspirations.

Horikoshi Reveals His Newest Power

Initially, when Izuku Midoriya donned his Hero Suit, spectators had minimal knowledge about its capabilities. The only information provided was that technology had significantly progressed over the past few years, and Izuku’s suit was significantly more robust compared to All Might’s. Given the awe-inspiring feats All Might performed with his armor, it’s safe to say that Izuku’s suit is even more extraordinary.

Horikoshi also recently verified its power sources. The Armor doesn’t bestow random capabilities upon him. Rather, it harnesses the power of One For All, which it reproduces in various forms. All the powers associated with the Quirk of One For All, including the abilities of the vestiges, and even complex powers like Gear Shift can be replicated using the Hero Armor.

Izuku Can Still Become The No. 1 Hero

Beyond what was already impressive, Horikoshi further disclosed that Izuku Midoriya possesses the ability to merge multiple powers with his Hero Armor. Much like how Izuku uses vestige powers to craft exceptional talents, this armor enables him to do so, making him a formidable combatant. It’s hardly unexpected to find Izuku occupying the No. 4 Hero position, and in time, he could potentially challenge Mirio Togata for the coveted Number 1 Hero spot.
