My Hero Academia: Kohei Horikoshi Officially Reveals Plans For Continuation After The Manga’s End

This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia‘s Epilogue.

Last year, the “My Hero Academia” manga drew to a close, leaving fans eager for fresh stories penned by its creator Kohei Horikoshi. Unlike most series, where the end of serialization indicates a halt in new content, the case with “My Hero Academia” has proven to be an exception.

Kohei Horikoshi hasn’t stopped producing fresh material for “My Hero Academia” during the past year or so, surprising some readers due to the manga’s conclusion. However, it’s important to note that Horikoshi hasn’t decided to permanently wrap up the series, which means the franchise will carry on and periodically offer new content for fans to enjoy, ensuring its longevity.

Horikoshi Confirms My Hero Academia Will Continue

The Manga Has Ended By My Hero Academia Will Not End Here

  • My Hero Academia Will Continue To Get Bits From The Author
  • The MHA Verse Continues With Vigilantes

Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of My Hero Academia, previously made a significant announcement about the series. In this statement, Horikoshi unequivocally affirms that My Hero Academia will not be entirely concluded, despite the manga coming to an end. Occasionally, fans have been treated to new content, and as we’ve seen in recent months, this is indeed what has happened.

This is the story of how we all became the greatest Heroes! — Izuku Midoriya

Over the past several months, “My Hero Academia” has been treated to a fresh fanbook, an art book, and even graced with a new Art Exhibition. In these recent times, much previously undisclosed content was unveiled by Horikoshi. Beyond this, two additional one-shot chapters of “My Hero Academia” have already been released following the manga’s conclusion, leaving fans eagerly anticipating more. Moreover, “My Hero Academia Vigilantes” is set to persist, expanding the “MHA” universe even further as Horikoshi had foretold.

His message can be read below:

The manga version of My Hero Academia has come to an end. I truly appreciate your encouragement throughout our shared journey of reading this series. Even if you weren’t offering support, simply reading the manga meant the world to me and I will remain eternally grateful.

Upon concluding the manga’s run, I’ve found myself developing a deeper affection for the characters than anticipated. Finishing the series has left me with an empty feeling.

While currently engrossed in creating numerous humorous sketches and compact manga strips, I’ve been fortunate to devote my time to these projects instead. To clarify, when I mention “shouto manga,” I’m referring to brief manga panels, not the “Shouto Manga” series such as “Todoroki-kun.

The series still has another season to go, and believe it or not, I didn’t think it would last this long when Season 1 premiered. Additionally, we’ll be getting a Vigilantes anime! I can hardly contain my excitement to support them alongside you all! Frankly, this message resembles an entry in my planner.

I’m keen on revisiting the series and offering additional insights about it, yet it seems like I’ll defer discussing it until the Vigilantes manga volumes.

By all means, let’s discuss upcoming plans for the My Hero Academia series! Essentially, this franchise is set to carry on. Deku and his comrades will continually strive for their best, not just for you but for me as well. I truly appreciate your ongoing support and ask that it continues in the future. In these challenging times, remember to take care of yourselves and keep pushing beyond limits – PLUS ULTRA!

What Horikoshi’s Statement Means For The Future Of My Hero Academia

The World Of MHA Will Expand More

Fans of “My Hero Academia” will be thrilled to learn that the series, as a whole, is not likely to come to an end anytime soon, according to creator Horikoshi. There’s still plenty of material to delve into and the author plans to continue adding to the manga whenever he feels inspired. Although there won’t be a follow-up storyline, fans can look forward to more one-shots and further insights from the creator.

Don’t forget that just like the manga, My Hero Academia could potentially have new films in the future. Horikoshi often plays a significant role in these productions, and with the manga coming to an end, there’s a fantastic opportunity for many exceptional movies, with perhaps even more of the author’s involvement than before.

As an observer, I’ve noticed that the manga of My Hero Academia wrapped up with an impressive 431 chapters, all conveniently available for fans to delve into on Manga Plus. Regarding the anime adaptation, it’s still anticipated that its final season will debut later this year, and eager viewers can catch up on Crunchyroll.
