Earlier this month, fans said goodbye to My Hero Academia, a hugely popular anime series of the last ten years. The final season was short but incredibly well-received. Although the main story has ended, fans knew more content was planned, and Jump Festa 2026 recently revealed what’s next for the series.
My Hero Academia opened this year’s Jump Festa event, and 2026 looks set to be a great year for the series. The final episode, often called My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 12, is scheduled to be released on May 2nd of next year.

Jump Festa didn’t just announce the release date for the next My Hero Academia episode. It also showed a glimpse of what’s to come: a future storyline featuring the characters all grown up, promising an exciting adventure for fans.
I recently found out what the next My Hero Academia episode will be about. Season 8, Episode 12 – which is a special called “More” – will adapt chapter 431, an extra chapter that came with the final volume of the manga.
My Hero Academia chapter 431 fast-forwards eight years, showing us what the characters are doing with their lives and how their hero careers have developed.
Extra Content Like The One Shot Could Potentially be Included
Fans are looking forward to seeing chapter 431 of My Hero Academia animated, but many think a single chapter doesn’t have enough material for a full episode. Because of this, the anime will likely include extra scenes and content not found in the manga. There’s also speculation that Horikoshi’s one-shot story, focusing on Eri, might be adapted into this episode as well, giving fans a chance to see her backstory come to life.
My Hero Academia tells the story of a world where most people are born with superpowers called Quirks. It follows Deku, a young boy who dreams of becoming the world’s greatest hero, inspired by his idol, All Might, in a society filled with both heroes and villains. The manga recently finished its run after 431 chapters, and you can read it all on Manga Plus. The final season of the anime is currently airing with 11 episodes and is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
