This article contains spoilers from the My Hero Academia Epilogue.
The universe of My Hero Academia has evolved significantly, and fans are aware that the Symbol of Peace, All Might, can no longer safeguard them. All Might was incredibly powerful in his time, and his impact was so great that he was broadly seen as the strongest Hero in the world, and also, simply the strongest being overall. Sadly, the era of All Might is now officially over, and the world of Heroes has progressed.
We have new heroes now. At the end of My Hero Academia, it was revealed who would succeed All Might, and it’s Mirio Togata. Mirio has become the number one hero in Japan, striving to save a million people – his long-held dream. While he may not possess the same power as All Might, his kind heart and willingness to sacrifice everything for others truly make him the rightful successor to All Might’s legacy.

Mirio Is The New Number 1 Hero

- Shoto Todoroki is in second place
- Mt. Lady Is third
After the conclusion of the Final War in My Hero Academia, many people thought Izuku Midoriya would quickly become the top Hero. While Izuku is arguably the best Hero, and perhaps the greatest of all time, he didn’t immediately rise to the top of the Japanese Hero Billboard Chart. This happened because he lost his One For All Quirk, a choice that surprised a lot of viewers. Because Izuku Midoriya ended the series without a Quirk, he was no longer eligible to work as a Pro Hero, meaning someone else needed to step up. That someone turned out to be Mirio Togata.
My work-study job gave me a fantastic boost, and it’s helping me achieve my dreams! So, even if you’re feeling hesitant, I strongly encourage all of you first-years to give it a try! – Mirio Togata
From the moment he was introduced, fans recognized Mirio Togata’s potential to become an amazing Hero. Even Sir Nighteye foresaw his future success, predicting that Mirio would achieve great things. Therefore, it wasn’t shocking to see him rise to become a contender for the Number 1 Hero. Following the Final War, Mirio has undoubtedly become even more powerful, and he’s earned the right to succeed All Might as the strongest and take his place. However, other heroes are also qualified for the top spot. Close behind Mirio is Shoto Todoroki, holding the Number 2 position, and Mt. Lady at Number 3.

Izuku Is Currently The No. 4 Hero

Many people have been asking about Izuku Midoriya’s current status. It’s now official: Izuku is the Number 4 Hero. This happened after he received his Hero costume and was able to return to working as a Pro Hero. He rapidly climbed the ranks and achieved the position of Number 4. Looking ahead, Izuku Midoriya has the potential to become Japan’s top Hero, potentially surpassing Mirio Togata.

After running for 431 chapters, the My Hero Academia manga has finished its run, and all of them are available to read on Manga Plus. As for the anime adaptation, the final season is expected to premiere later this year. You can stream the series on Crunchyroll.
