This post contains spoilers for My Hero Academia.
The anime series My Hero Academia concluded on December 13th, 2025. The eighth and final season consisted of 11 episodes, all of which were exceptionally well-made. Fans frequently took to social media after each episode to share their positive reactions. With the series now finished, the online conversations surrounding it will likely quiet down.
It’s understandable that fans are feeling strongly about recent events in My Hero Academia, but they can be happy to know that the anime’s eighth season is a landmark achievement.
Every Episode Of My Hero Academia Season 8 Has A Rating Above 9 On IMDb
- My Hero Academia Season 8 has set a new record
- Every episode has scored a rating of 9 and above
It’s gone largely unnoticed, but My Hero Academia Season 8 has achieved an impressive milestone. Every episode of the anime’s latest season has received a rating above 9 out of 10 on IMDb, which is a rare accomplishment for any anime series. This success is thanks to the hard work and dedication of Studio Bones.
Bones studio has been behind every season of My Hero Academia, consistently working to maintain a high level of quality. However, they really outdid themselves with the final season. The animation and visuals were exceptional, and the music was also incredibly well-done.
Bones Played A Key Role In My Hero Academia’s Success
The studio behind the anime did a great job, but the strength of the original story was crucial to its success. Credit for that goes to Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of My Hero Academia. The most recent season covered the rest of the Final War arc and the Epilogue arc, starting with exciting battles between heroes and villains, particularly focusing on Midoriya and Shigaraki. After Midoriya and his allies defeated Shigaraki and the villains, the story shifted to explore the consequences of the war.
Even though this power started as something destructive, all of your sacrifices have given it a new purpose. It’s possible the only way to defeat him is to end his life, and I haven’t figured out the best course of action yet. But… I really want to save that boy.” —Midoriya
The latest season of My Hero Academia focused on the aftermath of a huge battle, showing how the characters dealt with the consequences and developed their relationships, particularly between Midoriya and Ochako. The season finale jumps forward eight years, revealing what life is like after the heroes win. Overall, it was an incredible season that sets a very high bar for other anime.
No New My Hero Academia Project Has Been Announced Yet
- No new MHA project has been confirmed
- Fans will have to wait to find out if there ever will be one
With both the anime and manga finished, fans of My Hero Academia are wondering if there will be any future projects. So far, there haven’t been any official announcements, and it’s looking increasingly likely that the series has concluded without any plans for more content.
It’s worth remembering that many creators revisit their work later on, so Kohei Horikoshi might decide to continue My Hero Academia with a sequel or prequel. Many fans would especially enjoy a prequel focusing on the story of All Might, the former Number One Hero and Symbol of Peace.
All Might has consistently been a fan favorite, regularly ranking among the most popular characters. Because of this, many viewers would likely enjoy a prequel focusing on his past. This prequel could explore his youth, the people who inspired him, and his connections with other characters, as well as showcase more of his battles.
Shonen Jump Needs A Successor To My Hero Academia
The My Hero Academia manga concluded in 2024 after a highly successful run in Weekly Shonen Jump. With over 100 million copies sold globally, it’s become a truly standout series. Now that My Hero Academia has finished, its publisher, Shueisha, will likely be looking for a new manga to take its place and capture a similar audience.
Two new manga series, Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch, are currently gaining popularity in Shonen Jump. Kagurabachi centers around Chihiro’s quest to find the legendary swords made by his father, while Ichi the Witch tells the story of Ichi overcoming challenges to become a witch. Although both are popular with fans, neither has reached the level of fame as My Hero Academia. However, their upcoming anime adaptations could change that.
Kagurabachi And Ichi The Witch Need An Anime To Get Close To My Hero Academia
Kagurabachi is currently the most likely manga to be adapted into an anime, with rumors pointing to Cygames Studio as the potential producer. However, it’s best to wait for an official announcement. While there are no plans for an Ichi the Witch anime right now, many believe an adaptation will happen in the future.
