Even though the main My Hero Academia story is expected to conclude in 2025, the series isn’t over yet. Earlier that year, fans enjoyed MHA Vigilantes, an anime adaptation of the spin-off manga.
Fans were excited for My Hero Academia: Vigilantes because it was created by Bones Film, the same studio behind the popular My Hero Academia anime. The anime lived up to expectations, receiving very positive feedback from viewers. Shortly after the first season finished, announcements for a continuation were already being made.

My Hero Academia Will Return One More Time In 2026
Okay, so Season 8 of My Hero Academia wrapped up in December 2025, which was a little sad! But the amazing news is, the anime isn’t completely over! They’re giving us one final episode on May 2nd, 2026 – it’s called “More” and it’s going to adapt Chapter 431 of the manga. I’m so excited to see how they finish things off!
With both the My Hero Academia manga and anime finished, fans are wondering if 2026 will be the year creator Kohei Horikoshi reveals what he’s working on next. He’s hinted at a new project, but hasn’t shared any details yet. While everyone is excited for an announcement, it’s important to remember to be supportive of Horikoshi and give him time.
Creating manga is incredibly demanding, and doing it for years can really strain your health. Kohei Horikoshi deserves to take his time and shouldn’t feel pressured to return to work until he’s fully recovered and ready.
