This article contains spoilers from the My Hero Academia series.
For over ten years, My Hero Academia has been a leading force in the world of Shonen anime, consistently gaining a large and dedicated fanbase. However, the anime series is coming to an end this year with its final, abbreviated season, Season 8, following the conclusion of the manga in 2024. Understandably, fans are disappointed to see the story finish. As My Hero Academia wraps up, other anime are looking to fill the gap, and To Be Hero X is actively aiming to become the next big hit.
While My Hero Academia has been the most popular superhero anime for a long time, it’s nearing its end. Now, To Be Hero X is poised to become the next big hit, potentially surpassing MHA with its captivating and ongoing story.
My Hero Academia is Ending, and a New Superhero Anime is Rising
- To Be Hero X is the New Hottest Superhero Anime
- To Be Hero X Was One of the Biggest 2025 Releases
I’ve been watching My Hero Academia for years, and like a lot of people, I really enjoyed it. The manga finished up late last year, 2024, and now the anime is coming to an end too. Season 8 will be short, only 12 episodes, to wrap everything up. It looks like we’ll see the final episode by the end of the year. Whatever happens next, I think My Hero Academia will be remembered as a truly amazing anime – and for many, the best superhero anime ever made.
I’m completely hooked on this new series, To Be Hero X! Honestly, it’s giving My Hero Academia a run for its money this year. It’s a Chinese animated show that came out in 2025 and everyone’s talking about it. The story is really cool – basically, every two years all the heroes compete in a tournament to decide their ranking, and that ranking actually changes how powerful they are! It’s such a clever idea, and the animation is just stunning. It’s seriously got me wanting more with every episode!
Now that a second season of To Be Hero X is confirmed and with less competition from shows like My Hero Academia, it has a strong chance of becoming the next big hit in the superhero anime genre.
I hadn’t given it much thought before, but if I had to compare myself to a character, it would probably be Deku. Like him, I tend to be emotional and a bit timid—though those aren’t qualities I’m particularly proud of.
New MHA Projects Could Keep the Series Alive
- MHA Vigilantes Will Come in 2026
- A Live-Action Movie is in the Works At Netflix
The original My Hero Academia anime series is finishing up this year, but the story isn’t over yet. While Deku and Class 1-A’s journey will conclude with season 8, there’s still more to come. A spin-off series, Vigilantes, is planned, with season 2 expected to release in 2026, and fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival.
I am currently developing ideas for a new manga series. There are things I wanted to explore that I couldn’t within My Hero Academia, and I’m excited to put those ideas into this next project. My goal is to launch this series in Weekly Shonen Jump, so I’m focusing on concept development and figuring out how to make it a strong submission.
Beyond that, Netflix has exciting plans for the series. The live-action My Hero Academia adaptation, first announced seven years ago, is now moving forward with a completed script. If the movie does well, fans might see even more live-action content based on the series, potentially on a scale similar to the One Piece live-action show.
As a huge My Hero Academia fan, I’m still reeling from finishing the manga – all 431 chapters were incredible! You can read the whole thing over on Manga Plus, which is awesome. And for those of us who love the anime, the final season is coming out later this year, and we can catch it all on Crunchyroll. I’m so excited!
