Many of the hidden areas in the Teshio Ridge region of Ghost of Yotei are locked behind puzzles. These puzzles all require players to rotate fox statues to the correct positions.

Players traveling to Owl Mountain to learn about the Kusarigama in *Ghost of Yotei* may discover the Nakajima Ice Cave Hideout. This guide provides the solution to the puzzle that unlocks the hideout, and also details the other puzzles found within.

How to Solve the Nakajima Ice Cave Hideout Puzzle in Ghost of Yotei

To get to the Nakajima Ice Cave, first find Sarobetsu Lake and the Nakajima Sake House. From there, head west. You’ll see the cave entrance guarded by two fox statues and a puzzle called Kitsune. Solve the puzzle by turning the statues so they face opposite directions – this will open a hidden passage. Crawl through the opening, then jump up to reach a platform you can grapple onto.

To get to the second Kitsune puzzle, you’ll need to climb a wall. The puzzle itself is simple: just rotate the statue two times so it’s facing the light on the opposite side. This will create some ropes you can jump across, leading you to the Nakajima Ice Cave Hideout.

This area has many enemies, so sneaking around is your best bet, especially with all the bushes for cover. Be aware that you’ll also take Cold damage here, so if you have Taro’s Armor, equip it. After you’ve defeated all the enemies, head to the center of the area to solve the final Kitsune puzzle.

Rotate the fox statues until they are facing each other; this will create a rope bridge you can use to cross. Continue jumping across the platforms, and you’ll eventually reach the Altar of Reflection. You’ll also find a Puzzle Box here, which is needed to unlock the Trickster Fox trophy.
