This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.
Summary
- Nami could potentially get a powerful Devil Fruit, like the Goro Goro no Mi
- Fans speculate Oda might give Nami this ability, based on his drawings
- While getting the Goro Goro no Mi is unlikely, Nami needs a power-up for upcoming threats
Among the Straw Hat crew members, Nami, the navigator, could greatly benefit from an upgrade in powers. She’s a beloved character in the One Piece series, and fans eagerly anticipate her growth. Consequently, many fans hope that Eiichiro Oda will bestow upon her a potent Devil Fruit ability, as seen in his recent sketches of her wielding it. However, one might wonder if this development would fit seamlessly into the narrative.
Nami Could Be Getting a Powerful Devil Fruit
Oda Loves To Draw Nami Having Enel’s Powers
Among the initial cast introduced in “One Piece,” Nami is one of the earliest characters and becomes the second to ally with Luffy on his journey. In simpler terms, Nami has been a companion on this quest for nearly 30 years. However, don’t let that fool you; she may not be exceptionally powerful.
Nami’s defining trait isn’t her strength, instead, she excels as a skilled navigator and has a high level of intelligence. However, considering the ongoing narrative where combat occurs frequently, especially in this climactic final saga with enemies growing increasingly powerful, it seems reasonable to wish for Nami to become stronger. Her latest power-up was obtaining Zeus, Big Mom’s ally, but on his own, he may not be sufficient to tackle the impending danger. As a result, many fans speculate that Nami might acquire a Devil Fruit ability in the future.
A common thought among many is that the optimal Devil Fruit for Nami could be the Goro Goro no Mi, which Enel is the current user of. This fruit seems particularly suited to Nami given its electrical nature, granting her extraordinary abilities.
By consuming the Goro Goro no Mi, Nami might reach unprecedented heights in the storyline, a possibility that many fans find compelling due to the creator’s fondness for illustrating Nami wielding this Devil Fruit in the series.
Will Nami Really Get the Goro Goro no mi?
It’s Unlikely But The Chance Are There
It’s highly unlikely that Nami will obtain the Goro Goro no Mi given Enel’s current status. This is because for Nami to possess the fruit, Enel must first die and then Nami needs to find his fruit. However, Enel is currently not on the One Piece planet since he traveled to the moon after Skypiea events. It’s expected that he will return at some point, but there’s no pressing need for Oda to kill him off in the storyline as of now.
In other words, if he perishes in the narrative, it’d be quite late in the game for Nami to acquire a sudden power boost then. Given the circumstances, it wouldn’t serve much purpose. However, it would be intriguing to see one of the Straw Hats obtaining a Logia ability since, up until now, only Paramecia and Zoans have been featured in the series.
People don’t fear God. Fear itself is God. — Enel
Without a doubt, she seems destined for a Devil Fruit, but not necessarily the Goro Goro no Mi. She may acquire different abilities instead, with Oda potentially inventing a unique power tailored for her, similar to Zeus. The main challenge Nami faces at present is the absence of Haki, not the Devil Fruit. Here’s hoping that all Straw Hat Pirates can master some form of Haki before Elbaf concludes, as the upcoming final saga promises to be incredibly intense.
