In the captivating realm of Dandadan, where the enigmatic coexists with the supernatural, I’ve encountered a steady stream of unusual entities. Creatures like Nessie, part bat and monster, have certainly backed up this claim. Yet, among these oddities, some pique curiosity more than others, and one such enigma is the Nanoskin.

This mysterious artifact was bestowed upon the Ayases by an extraterrestrial being, to mend their home after it had suffered extensive damage. The Nanoskin’s unique abilities have left me intrigued and eager to uncover more about its origins and capabilities.

In the anime titled “Dandadan“, the Nanoskin, which initially appeared as a foreign object used for house reconstruction at the Ayase residence, turned out to be far more significant than just a temporary fix. Its operation, impact, and combat role have sparked curiosity among fans and characters alike, revealing its multifaceted nature.

In the wake of Jiji’s affliction by the malevolent gaze, he struggled to keep it under control. Yet, when he returned to the Ayase Residence, his efforts proved futile as he inadvertently demolished the house whenever he transformed into a different form. This catastrophe occurred with the arrival of Okarun and Jiji, both losing grip over the evil eye’s power, resulting in the Ayase Residence crumbling to pieces. Fortunately, as they pondered their next steps for rebuilding, their friend Mr. Mantis Shrimp showed up, accompanied by Ludris, an expert in construction from another world and his alien companion, who offered their assistance using Nanoskins to mend the damaged house. Nonetheless, the Ayase family, along with Jiji and Okarun, remained clueless about the unknown forces they were now tangled in.

The Nanoskin consists of advanced nanomachines that can adapt to the user’s mental image. It retains any form it has been given until specifically changed, at which point it reverts back to its original shape on its own. This property makes it a potential solution for the Ayase household, which has suffered extensive damage, particularly from Jiji’s malevolent gaze.

The nanotechnology utilized to restore the Ayase home has undergone various advancements, some adorable or simply practical, while others are so extraordinary they could match alien invaders in combat. One such model was the Great Kinta Bodhisattva. This was a colossal Mecha, inspired by Kinta’s vivid imagination and obsession with giant robots. Unlike many other anime mechas that require multiple controls for the pilot, this one is operated through the same principle that created it – visualization.

The entity also underwent three transformations due to the necessity to adapt and change according to various scenarios, resulting in numerous modifications. In a state of uncertainty after fleeing the Kaiju and rushing to their home, Okarun, Momo, and the group recalled the idea behind the Nanoskin and, in a desperate bid, crafted the Giant Mecha Buddha, their initial form. However, this creation was problematic due to Momo’s vision of something immense, causing numerous malfunctions with minimal functionality. As a result, Kinta redesigned it into its second form.

In the second version, it’s more battle-ready, boasting agile limbs and feet for maneuverability and strategic strikes – unlike the initial one. Kinta skillfully employed the Nanoskin in this form, launching potent attacks and momentarily overpowering the Kaiju. The Kaiju eventually regained the advantage against Kinta, threatening to obliterate his invention. Consequently, Momo and Aira utilized their extraordinary powers to commandeer the Mecha, transforming it into a third form – a blend of Alienware and supernatural forces. This transformation enabled them to subdue the Kaiju, leading to these significant advancements.

Beyond the fascinating application of the Great Kinta Bodhisattva, the Nanoskin has also been utilized in remarkable ways. For instance, Mr. Mantis Shrimp transformed the ordinary Ayase residence into a mobile home, enabling them to transport an injured and temporarily immobile Okarun to the hospital without causing additional harm.

In addition to Momo’s transformations like turning the house into a giant bicycle and a feline figure, which seemed quite peculiar, Aira too added to the mix by changing the house into a blend of her romantic fantasies. This transformation, according to many, was the most unbelievable alteration seen in the Nanoskin house so far.
